Bob is a general that used to be part of Lord Garmadon's Shark Army, but was fired out of a volcano for reasons unknown. He's deaf due to his eardrums rupturing from the force of the volcano blast.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie[]

At one point in time, Bob served Garmadon as General Number One in his Shark Army. However, due to upsetting Garmadon in some fashion, he was fired out of Garmadon's Volcano Lair, rupturing his ear drums in the process and deafening him.

Some time later, Bob joined forces with other fired General Number Ones, forming the Fired Generals, as they planned their revenge against their former leader. One day, after encountering and capturing him alongside the Secret Ninja Force, Bob marched alongside the other Fired Generals as they brought their captives to their hideout. When Garmadon demanded for the generals to release him, Bob loudly declared that he couldn't hear Garmadon, to which the latter began to repeat his demands, only for another general to explain the reason for Bob's comment: he could no longer hear after having his eardrums blown out thanks to Garmadon.
