The Vespasian-Orus dynasty is the former Royal Family of the Kingdom of Imperium.

History

History[]

Prior to the series[]

Levo, the Emperor of the Kingdom of Imperium and an Elemental Master, was a father of twin daughters - Zeatrix and Beatrix. As the firstborn, Zeatrix inherited Levo's Elemental Powers, leaving Beatrix without any such abilities. The circumstance led to Beatrix being unappreciated by her own father, who was more fascinated by Zeatrix. In contrast, Zeatrix reveled in her newfound powers, resulting in Beatrix feel taunted.

As years passed, the Royal Family of Imperium received a proposal from Ras, who claimed to be able to capture a Source Dragon using Imperium's advanced technology. While Beatrix found the proposition intriguing, her father and sister were uninterested. Beatrix, driven by her desire to conquer the realms, pleaded with Ras for his assistance in her quest to become Empress. In return, she would be able to fulfill Ras' requirements for capturing a Source Dragon for Imperium. Ras resorted to killing Levo and having Zeatrix banished from Imperium, leaving Beatrix as the only legitimate heir to the throne.

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

Following The Merge, Empress Beatrix dispatched the Claws of Imperium to hunt Dragons throughout the entirety of the Merged Lands. Her ambitions led her into direct conflict with the Ninja of Ninjago, reaching a head when the ninja freed all of Imperium's captured dragons and humiliated the Empress during the Battle of the Second Monastery. Following this crushing blow to Imperium's way of life, the Good Empress swore vengeance upon the ninja and schemed to collect the three Dragon Cores to serve as the key to her vengeance. Her actions ultimately resulted in her own downfall when the ninja exposed Beatrix's lies and turned her own people against her. Losing the iron grip on her kingdom, Beatrix was defeated by Arin and sent to the Land of Monsters through a MergeQuake.

Etymology

Etymology[]

The first part of the family's last name, Vespasian comes from the Roman Emperor, Vespasian, whose name is believed to mean either "west", "evening", or "wasp". The second part, Orus, comes from Greek mythology and it means the "first to be born."

This is the first Royal Family to have Elemental Powers.
Zeatrix and Beatrix are the third pair of twins in the franchise; the first two are the Time Twins, and Akita and Kataru.
- Unlike the Time Twins, only one inherited Elemental Powers.
According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, Zeatrix and Beatrix's mother died before the events of the series.^[1]
The surname Vespasian likely comes from the Roman emperor of the same name.
