Following The Merge, sightings were reported of the scented candle, an artifact that the Explorer's Club had long believed to be lost forever. It was then sought out by Clutch Powers, though he would discover that it had already been found by fellow explorer Percy Shippelton. However, Shippelton had triggered a booby trap following his recovery of the scented candle, causing him and the candle to fall into a deep pit.
