40706 Micro Ninjago City Markets

Set number 10! The 4th and last entry to the Micro NINJAGO City collection - and this is the one I finally get to finalize! :D

In case if you haven't read about my post on the first one, this one is very much the sole reason the whole collection happened, as the main reason I felt like trying to build some microscale NINJAGO City models after all these years was that I can try my hands on building a micro NINJAGO City Markets before any fans do their take (at the time NINJAGO City Markets wasn't revealed to the world yet hehe), so I think it's also a fitting one for me to finalize in the end.

Similar to 40705 the Micro NINJAGO City Gardens, here I had to face a challenge of recreating something much bigger in real life to fit a similar value as the previous entries since they are all meant to be Insiders rewards - the exercise of bringing the original concept model to budget without losing any of the iconic details was truly an exhilarating one! (I LOVE that part of my job)

One of the biggest challenges I had with this one was to create that curvy top of the lime green tower. On the sketch model I used the element we used on the Speed Champions DB5 headlights, which would've been perfect, IF the element exists in lime green... As these models ended up being an extra product for Insiders Rewards, I didn't get the usual luxury of making a colour change. I tried a bunch of different solutions and in the end I came up with this combination of cut bow and pizza slice tile, which I'm pretty happy with, and I'm also proud that I managed to put in the other side of the cut bow as grass detail at the base
