Background[]

As the Lowly made their way through the Dungeons of Shintaro, they came face to face with a horde of giant spiders. Fungus used his magic to freeze all the spiders, except for one that continued to trail behind the group. Intrigued by the trio, the spider, later named Adam, decided to join them on their quest, during which Adam accidentally triggered a trap which nearly crushing the entire group. Nevertheless, they managed to successfully obtain the Skull of Hazza D'ur and begin their journey back to Vangelis with Adam by their side.

After returning to the Kingdom of Shintaro with the skull, the Lowly presented it to Vangelis. However, before they could destroy it, Vangelis decided to keep the skull for its powers instead. When the Lowly expressed their disapproval, Vangelis dropped them, and Adam, down to Rock-Bottom.

Master of the Mountain[]

Giant Spiders were encountered by Cole on multiple occasions during his visit to Shintaro Mountain. Cole's first encounter with one such spider nearly ended fatally had Vania and Chompy not intervened and drove away the massive arachnid. Later, the pair and Wu encountered another trio of Giant Spiders after being cast into the Pit. One of these spiders quickly cocooned Cole and took him away, intending to eat him, but was interrupted by the second, leading to a fight between the two. As they fought, a third spider emerged and took the cocoon holding Cole but was attacked by Vania. Unfortunately, the trio were unable to defeat the Giant Spiders and were forced to escape their nest by cutting their way to fall even further down.

After arriving in Rock Bottom, Cole, Vania, and Wu met Adam. Adam would prove to be a valuable asset for Cole and Co as they fought their way out of Rock Bottom and confronted the Skull Sorcerer and his forces.

Seabound[]

Adam was in the palace in the Kingdom of Shintaro, accompanied by the Upply.

Crystalized[]

Adam participated in the final confrontation against the crystal army, during which he assisted Cole in his fight against Vangelis. After the battle and the Overlord's defeat, Adam celebrated alongside al others gathered in Ninjago City and later helped to rebuild the Ninja's Monastery.

  • Giant spiders are similar to the Spykor, due to the fact that they are both types of spiders and are related to skulls.
  • The only known member of this species to be on the heroes' side is Adam, who is part of the Upply. He is Plundar's companion.
  • With the exception of Adam, these spiders all have Skull-like formations on their heads.
  • Giant spiders are very similar to the spiders from The Hobbit, because both are huge species of spiders that have tried to devour the main protagonists. They are especially similar to Shelob, because they both live in caves in a mountain range, where they form cobwebs and eat the inhabitants of the surface when they get inside the mountain.
