The Pit (Shintaro)

Overview

Not to be confused with the Pit from the Realm of Oni and Dragons.
Your friend did come to me. And I cast him into the bowels of the mountain. He and that old fool, Wu.”

The Pit is a sinkhole in the Kingdom of Shintaro's palace that leads all the way to Rock-Bottom. Previously, it was used by Vangelis to banish people from Shintaro or to travel to the dungeons.

History

History[]

Dungeon Party! (flashback)[]

After Vangelis' decision to retain the Skull of Hazza D'ur so he could use its powers for his own purpose, the Lowly informed the King of the need to destroy the artifact, given its malevolent capabilities. Anticipating such a response, Vangelis proceeded to open the Pit and exiled the Lowly to Rock-Bottom.

The Skull Sorcerer[]

Discovering why Vangelis' reason for becoming the Skull Sorcerer, Cole, Wu, and Vania tried to stop him. However, their efforts to obtain the Skull of Hazza D'ur were futile, resulting in Vangelis opening the Pit and banishing Cole and Wu to Rock-Bottom. Vania grabbed a set of Shintaro wings and jumped into the Pit to rescue the two.

The Real Fall[]

Following Vania's descent into the Pit, Vangelis briefly stood by the edge and contemplated his daughter's choices. Meanwhile, Cole and Wu discovered to their surprise that after falling for quite some time, they were still falling! Wu attempted to urge Cole to use his elemental power of Earth to slow their descent, but unfortunately due to the distance between them, Cole misheard his master and thought Wu was telling him to flap his arms to slow his descent.

Vania shortly caught up with the pair and attempted to hoist them out of the Pit, but unfortunately, their combined weights was too much for her set of wings to handle, dropping all three down now. Although Vania was initially calm about their situation, believing that Cole and Wu had a plan to escape, she soon began freaking out after realizing they had no plan. The trio's fall however, would be briefly broken after they landed atop a large patch of webbing - the nest of several Giant spiders.

After all attempts at fighting off the spiders failed, Cole tore apart the webbing beneath the trio, resuming their descent deeper into the Pit. Eventually, they would finally land atop a series of slippery, sliding tunnels which emptied into a raging underground river that would finally sweep the trio into Rock Bottom.

Grief-Bringer[]

Upon learning that the ninja's intention have the Munce and Geckles make amends, Vangelis and Hazza D'ur opted to use the Pit as a means of transportation to the Dungeons of Shintaro, where they revived Grief-Bringer.
