Venomari are trying to track someone. Lasha, crouched low to the ground, says there's a herd of mammoths behind the hillock, including four females and two males, one of them the leader. His astonished companions ask the snake if he really recognized all this from the tracks in the ground. Lasha rolls over and explains that he's actually been lying there disoriented all this time because the herd of mammoths walked over him.
Snaky Business[]
Serpentines set up their own market: the Hypnobrai sell magical amulets for hypnosis, the Constrictai sell sturdy shovels, and the Venomari sell vials of poison for just five beetles. Venomari's lucrative offer attracts the other Serpentines to their stall, where Lizaru sells the poison, which Spitta secretly collects under the tablecloth. Spitta says his supplies will last another half hour, but then he is going to be distracted by a large pizza.
