Chapter 1: Wooly Bully[]

Tribal Trivia[]

They are by far the largest animals in Chima, outweighing even the Rhinos. They are very, very strong and often assigned the heavy duty work, like pulling Sir Fangar’s Ice Fortress. Unknown to most, they are also very sophisticated and smart. Maula has more than once been Sir Fangar’s advisor, giving him advice on subjects ranging from love to battle tactics. Mottrot, though seldom credited, has built some very complex and functional machines. Mungus has mostly just brought the hurting.

Fantastic Flyers[]

The most surprising thing about the Mammoth tribe, is their talent for flying. Not Mungus though. There has yet to be built an airplane in Chima that can carry him. Mottrot is perhaps also a better builder of airplanes, than pilot of them. Though heavy and groundborne, the mammoth moves with more confidence and determination in the sky than the Vultures. Check out this bit of video, where the Mammoths are sent to fix what the Vultures cannot.

Trunk Funk[]

Although they do not usually communicate in this way, the Mammoths can use their trunks to produce a range of sounds. They do this by modifying the size of the holes in their noses, as air passes over their voice box. They can do everything from a low snort to high-pitched squeaks and deafening full blown trumpets. The Mammoths are actually great musicians and often gather in secret and in large numbers to play classical pieces by the great Mammoth composer Mortzart.

Chapter 2: A Family Affair[]

Mamma Mammoth[]

Maula is the leader (mother actually) of the Mammoth tribe. Her favorite weapon is the bazooka that she usually lets Mottrot carry around. She is very strict with Mottrot, but has a soft spot for Mungus. More like a blind spot actually. To Maula, Mungus is just perfect. She rarely commands anybody but her sons, but as a tribe leader, she has Sir Fangar’s ear. That means he listens to her, not that she actually has one of his ears in a box or something. Especially in questions of the heart, Maula is the only one among the Icehunters who can give Sir Fangar a second opinion about his dealings with feelings.

Mottrot in the Middle[]

In the Mammoth tribe, size is the only thing that really matters. Mottrot is the prince of the Mammoth tribe. He is clever, observant and obedient, but he gets no credit from his mother for it. Why? Because he is small. He has built the Ejectable Flyer for his mother’s Ice Stomper, he fixed up the tribe’s Speedorz, and in battle he is clearly better at finding ways to move forward. It is all to no avail. Maula only sees his shortcomings. Poor guy.

Little big Mungus[]

Mungus make the hurting! A big brute on the outside and a big softie on the inside. Mungus may have the strength of many men, but he has the playful heart and mind of a child. He likes to go into battle, but only because he thinks it is a game and it makes his mother happy. Mungus is twice the size of any other Icehunter, takes three CHI balls to keep awake from the Dreamless Sleep and eats four times more than anyone else. Mungus can flip a tank over all on his own; a display of strength even the Ice Bears need a mech for.

Chapter 3: Mighty Mammoth Machines[]

Mammoth Frozen Stronghold[]

Mammoths have a knack for defense, so when they build a stronghold, you know it is not going to be an easy-access kind of place. A central trunk cannon and disc shooters keep the enemy at a distance. If they get close enough to be a threat, the mammoths launch the Tusk Flipper and knock over enemy vehicles like they were little, plastic toys. Approach with extreme caution!

Ice Mammoth Stomper[]

Not the fastest moving machine in Chima, but definitely one to be careful around. Maula’s Ice Stomper has a powerful trunk cannon in front and two ice blaster cannons and missile launchers on it’s back. In short, it is dangerous to approach this trudging terror from any angle. The big cargo space inside its massive construction has transported everything from stolen CHI to the kidnapped Li’Ella. The Ice Stomper is heavily armored and mobile, making it a miniature moving fortress.

Ejectable Flyer[]

If you think pure speed is an advantage against the Ice Stomper, you have a surprise coming. The large round structures on either side of its body are actually propellers that can flip out and lift the Ejectable Flyer into the sky. The design is quite brilliant. Since it is based on propellers and not propulsion, the Mammoth Ejectable Flyer can both give chase, maneuver in tight spaces and hover over a specific spot. Well built, Mottrot.

Mungus’ Club[]

Okay, so this is not really mechanical as such, but in the hands of Mungus, it is a lean, mean hurting machine. It is made from the wood Quebracho, which literally means ‘axe breaker’ and is the hardest and heaviest wood in all of Chima. It can break many other things than axes, though. Into his club, Mungus has stuck pieces of bone. Not because he wants it to look extra dangerous and bring the hurting better, but because he can then hang his clothes on it, when he goes to bed.

Chapter 4: Oh Brother…[]

One bridge too far[]

Many consider Mottrot the unrecognized genius of the Mammoth family, but Mungus seems to have quite a number of hidden talents too. Check out this video of Mottrot and Mungus hanging out on the bridge, after Laval went off with the Fire Harness.

Chapter 5: Beneath The Tusk[]

Mungus the Softie[]

Underneath all of the Mammoths’s hard exteriors, beat the hearts of creative, fun-loving and playful animals. Mungus loves flowers, taking long walks, making stuff out of wood and playing. It is only when his mother commands him to fight, that he will attack anything. Just look at Mungus as he plays in the snow with the Rhinos. They develop a deep and warm relationship, and as long as the Rhino Legend Beast stays away, they are the best friends around. Wonder if the Mammoth Legend Beast could make Mungus smarter too?

Beaver Buddy[]

When Mottrot gets to choose for himself, there is no question of where he would rather be in Chima: hanging out with the Beavers. Not only do they have the same knack for engineering and construction; they have more in common. The Beavers used to be bigger. The same size as all the other animals in Chima, but along they way they somehow shunk. Mottrot has been teased a lot for being small, so in that regard they have loads to talk about. Mostly they just go wild making sketches, blueprints and prototypes of all sorts of amazing machines.

Mauling Maula[]

When Maula is not forced to bring out her harsh side in battle, she is actually quite the motherly type. She likes to cook nice meals for her boys. She likes to decorate her home with nice wallpaper and little decorative figurines. And she likes to tear stuff down. Sometimes the Beavers call her over to tear down something they have built but do not need anymore. Maula will be there with her bazooka and have it down in a second. Blowing her trumpet excitedly as she shoots.
