Official description[]

Once a pristine, natural paradise, CHIMA has become a battleground for eight animal tribes. Best friends are now enemies. The animals fight for control of a natural resource called CHI, a powerful element that is both a source of life and potential destruction. Only a few brave heroes in CHIMA understand the true nature of CHI and the possible downfall of CHIMA that will result from its misuse. Their stories, and the stories of those who seek to destroy them, are known as... THE LEGENDS OF CHIMA.

For a thousand years, animal tribes have ruled the land of CHIMA. Lions, crocodiles, eagles, wolves, gorillas, ravens, rhinos and bears lived in peace. They played and worked together, cooperated and prospered - until the outbreak of the CHIMA conflicts.

As the first species to drink from the Ancient Pool of CHI, the Lions had become its sworn protector. No one had ever challenged the Lions' custodianship of the Pool because the Lions had always been reliable and fair with the CHI. Animals throughout the land relied on the magical CHI orbs to energize their vehicles, gear, and themselves. The orbs were a power source that the Lions had always shared equally with everyone. Eventually, some of the animals got greedy. A young, rogue Crocodile prince named Cragger demanded that his tribe should receive a greater share of the powerful CHI orbs. But the Lions insisted, as they had for a thousand years, that giving too much CHI to any one tribe would upset the natural balance of CHIMA. The Lions only wanted to be fair, and to protect all of CHIMA. But the Crocodiles didn't see it this way. A series of minor skirmishes over the Crocodiles' share of the CHI led to bigger battles.

When the Crocodile Prince Cragger accused the Lions of getting rid of his parents and he became Crocodile King, full-scale conflict broke out between the Crocodiles and the Lions. As conflict spreads, the fate of CHIMA hangs in the balance...

In the magicial world of Chima, the tribes of Chima have divided after a terrible accident occurs in The Fangs. Cragger a young Crocodile, loses his parents to the Gorge of Eternal Depth after a major misunderstanding happens between the Lions and Crocs as Laval, a young Lion, snuck into the Lion Temple with Cragger and attempted to steal an orb of Chi from the Sacred Pool, but after getting caught by his father - Lagravis and his guards, Cragger attempts to flee and is stopped at the Forever Rock to be taken to his parents who scold Laval for letting Cragger do something so rash and tells him to stay away from Cragger. Cragger then makes a second attempt to sneak in but is stopped once again and is chased to The Fangs where the Gorge of Eternal Depth is and fired a Croc Flare to get help, both the Lions and Crocs show up and a battle breaks out which causes Cragger's parents, Crominus and Crunket to dangle over the gorge, after Laval refuses to give up some Chi to help Cragger's parents, Cragger cuts the rope his parents were holding on by and they fall into the gorge leaving Cragger with only his sister Crooler and the rest of his tribe. Crooler, who tries to try her brother up, uses a Persuader Plant to control Cragger and make him attack the Lions and thus for the next several months, Cragger under Crooler's control, sends out waves of attacks onto the different tribes of Chima including the Lion, Eagles and Gorillas and gains the support of the Wolves, Ravens and eventually the Rhinos, but Crooler's control eventually disappears gaining Cragger control of his own mind again and he decides to give back to the tribes for all the trouble he caused by distributing Chi and finally becomes friends with Laval again. Now friends again, the eight tribes come together to form a peace treaty at the Forever Rock but it is ruined when Crooler uses a Persuader Root to force everyone into a Fog of Destiny and thus Cragger once again turns on his friends and realizes his destiny is to control Chima. However, this conquest is cut short as a mysterious Black Cloud shows itself and begins to circle around Mount Cavora, Laval is able to gain the help of all the tribes, including Cragger and has all of them fire at the cloud and it flies away, but just when they think they won, the falls of Mount Cavora dry up leaving everyone stunned and confused, Cragger immediately blames Laval as he ordered everyone to fire at the Black Cloud even though Laval didn't think the falls would dry up, this causes another rift between the tribes with some siding with Laval and some siding with Cragger and another battle breaks out. The enemy is overwhelming, but Laval sees the mysterious ShadoWind and understands that he wants Laval to follow him, and so Laval gets Cragger to attack him and close down the gate to the Lion Temple but being on the bridge, it knocks both of them over causing them to fall to the ground, Laval throws Cragger in front of him so that Laval can save him from the landing and this act seems like ended Laval's life and Cragger is kneeling over him begging for him not to die but Laval gives his final words of hope to Cragger and seemingly passes away leaving Cragger deeply upset. After running off, Cragger heads to Laval's room seeing what appears to be him under his covers, Cragger than apologizes for everything and wishes his best friend was alive but when he pulls off the covers, he sees Laval's workout dummy and note explaining that he faked his death which stuns Cragger, he then looks out the window and spots something in the forest. Lagravis distracts the Wolves, Ravens and Rhinos when Cragger runs back into the battle and puts a stop to it and that is when it's revealed that Laval is alive and not only that, he comes riding in on the Crocodile Legend Beast with Cragger's mother Crunket who apparently had survived her fall into the Gorge of Eternal Depth months earlier. She and Cragger embrace, expressing how much they missed one another and the Crocodiles bow before their Queen, Crunket then explains what had happened and says when she fell into the gorge with Crominus, the gorge seemed to have its own magic as it broke their fall which allowed them to get out of their tank and search for a way out, but after searching for a while, they notice some Chi raining down from above which turns out to be the same Chi that Laval dropped down there months earlier which led to an unfortunate consequence, the Chi had actually affected the insects down in the gorge and spawned them into anthropomorphic forms just like them, with this new power, the tribes of Scorpions, Spiders and Bats forced the King and Queen of the Crocodiles to point them to the source of the Chi in hopes they would let them go and the tribes revealed they were gonna steal all the Chi and then drain the falls revealing them to be the Black Cloud the tribes of Chima fought earlier. Crunket then ends the story by saying that the other Legend Beasts had been captured by these tribes and are scattered throughout the Outlands and tells everyone that they will need to work together if they are to not only rescue the Legend Beasts, but also King Crominus who was also being held captive. At the Forever Rock, the eight heroes take one final look at their old hangout spot before heading out to the Outlands, the heroes discuss the plan for how they will decide on things out there and Laval says they may disagree on somethings, but they are all in this together and will plan ahead if need be and they chant one last time "FOR CHIMA!".

Very shortly after the Battle for Chima, the eight Heroes of Chima have come together and reunited as they journey on a quest to the Outlands to find their missing Legend Beasts. Lagravis briefly recaps what had happened previously and has doubts that Chima will ever be the same again, but Laval has faith they can restore everything as while they were all once enemies, they are now friends and together they will rescue the Legend Beasts and King Crominus and restore the falls of Mount Cavora. After stocking up on supplies, the eight tribes make their way into the Outlands for the first time and travel through the Predator Plant Fields, after making out of the fields, they are attacked by Bats, they are able to evade and even defeat some of these creatures and by the end of it, they come across a strange house in the Outlands where an exiled Lion named Lavertus is settling and invites them in and shows them a map to each of the Legend Beasts. After giving them some armor and more supplies, the heroes head out to rescue the Gorilla and Rhino Legend Beasts, they then encounter the Spiders for the first time and after a small battle with them, the heroes manage to defeat the Spiders and save the two Legend Beasts as they head back to Lavertus' base. Back at the base, the heroes of Chima notice that ShadoWind's helmet is there in the base and see Lavertus holding ShadoWind's clothes and working on a Speedor, it turns out that Lavertus is the mysterious ShadoWind and in one of his secret vaults is a room full of the Golden Chi that he won in the many races he was in at the Grand Arena and says he used them to build his Outlands Base and stayed there ever since, after a quick race, Lavertus travels with the heroes to help rescue the Raven Legend Beast who is being mind controlled by the Scorpions, after going into the Scorpion Caves, Laval, Lavertus and Razar throw cans of gold paint all over the Scorpions which breaks the Legend Beast free of the Scorpions' control due to Ravens being greedy and the Raven attacks the Scorpions and Razar rides on top of it as they all leave the caves and head back to the base. The next day, Eris is missing as she flew out to see what her distressed Eagle Legend Beast is crying about and it reveals that it's two eggs along with the Bear Legend Beast are trapped on a tilting platform and will need the help of the others to get both the eggs and the Bear to safety, so the group heads out and hatches a plan to rescue both of them safely, Laval and Bladvic are able to balance on the platform allowing the Eagle to get its eggs and then later, thanks to Bladvic's sleeping and Gorzan and the Gorilla Legend Beast holding the platform up, they are able to get the Bear Legend Beast down to safety and the Legend Beasts head to safety. After a brief swimming lesson, Laval attempts to head back but is surrounded by King Scorm and his Scorpions and realizes they made Speedorz while the heroes were getting the Bear and the eggs, but thanks to his experience in the Grand Arena, Laval is able to evade the Scorpions and head back to the others safely. The following night, Worriz is having trouble sleeping as the Mother Tooth glows, indicating that his Wolf Legend Beast is nearby, at the same time Cragger is having dreams of his father and wanting to save him, he heads out to find his father with Worriz following closely behind for his Legend Beast, the two cross paths and eventually team up together but are captured by the Crawlers, this allows Cragger to reunite with his father however and he mentions Lavertus which seems to anger Crominus but puts that aside as they need to find a way to get out of their cage so they can escape. When the group wakes up, they find that Cragger and Worriz are gone and set out to find them and they head to the Scorpion Caves, they head in and a battle breaks out between the Heroes of Chima and the Crawlers, after sometime, Cragger stalls the fight and tells everyone in ear shot that the Chi that the Crawlers got that made them into what they are actually came from Laval when he dropped Chi down the Gorge of Eternal Depth months earlier, however, this doesn't work out as the Crawlers continue their attack and the heroes' trust in Laval is shaken after realizing this and get on to Cragger and Eris for keeping this from them, however Laval hears the Lion Legend Beast and runs off to save him when he is blasted by the Crawlers. However he was able to make it to the cave entrance without a scratch and thanks to Cragger's advice, he swims across the water and reaches the Lion Legend Beast and they make back across together and join the fight, with all Legend Beasts found and rescued, the Heroes of Chima then make their way out of the Scorpion Caves but Scorm is shooting down the exits, but when all hope is lost, Lavertus and Rinona come in and saves everyone from Scorm, Lavertus then exits the WindShadow and starts placing Golden Chi orbs on the ground and uses them to collapse the cave and tells the heroes to flee to safety but not before telling Laval to tell his brother - Laval's father that he misses him dearly and brings down the cave as he puts on his ShadoWind helmet. Outside, Scorm attempts to dig himself out but Laval walks up to him and hands him an orb of Chi, Scorm is confused and outraged but Laval says that is what they do with Chi, they share it and he tells him to use it well and use it wisely as the Heroes of Chima head back home and out of the Outlands. Lagravis from the Lion Temple, sees that the Heroes of Chima have returned and with the Legend Beasts and Crominus and everyone reunites, Crominus says they wouldn't have made it without Lavertus and thus he explains everything that led to what happened, after explaining how he was the one who sent Lavertus into exile and confesses to the crimes he committed, he begs for forgiveness and tells Lagravis that he will do whatever to make it up to him, but Lagravis pulls him to his feet saying they must be equals and stand together as that's what Lavertus would've wanted and so Crominus raises his and Lagravis' arms and declares they will restore Chima in the honor of Lavertus, the Legend Beasts head up to Mount Cavora and reignite the falls bringing back the Chi. Back at the Scorpion Caves, Scorm is still outraged at Laval giving him Chi and says he was so viciously kind and and decides to throw the Chi away as he believes that if the Chi never found them, they wouldn't have known what it was like to feel broken, defeated, alone and so he tosses the Chi further down the caves and lands in front of a wall of ice awakening another tribe.

Season 3[]

S3poster

Sometime after the Quest for the Legend Beasts, Chima is once again at peace, the tribes are friendly with each other again, races in the Grand Arena returned and more, but Eris begins to have these strange dreams of Mount Cavora on fire and her wings bursting into flames and a strange blue substance spreading over Chima, she tries to get Laval's and Cragger's help but they are more focused on hanging out again and Cragger doesn't buy Eris' dreams. In the Scorpion Caves, the Scorpions dump all the Chi they have down the chasm to bury them but doing this causes the awakening of ancient ice tribes consisting of Saber-Tooth Tigers, Mammoths and Vultures to break out of the ice and seeing what the Chi can do, decide to use it to free themselves and power up as they escape the caves. With the Hunters free, they start spreading a plain of ice all across Chima and even affects the Crocodile Swamp leaving just Cragger, Crooler and Crug left to which they flee to the Lion Temple to get help and after sending out a distress roar to the other tribes, they fight these ice tribes for the first time but their weapons are ineffective as the ice is freezing their blaster fire and the tribes themselves and so they order a retreat so they can recover and prepare for the Hunters' next attack. Eris meanwhile, is still having her dreams but this time a flaming temple is on top of Mount Cavora and taking it as a sign, she decides to freeze the falls of Mount Cavora and with Laval and Cragger, the trio climb up the falls and enter the heart of Cavora where they encounter a very ancient tribe called the Phoenix who has been expecting Eris. Fluminox the leader, greets them and shows them to a power that could help the tribes of Chima battle the Hunters and reveals Fire Chi which is made by the Phoenix themselves and Eris tries an orb giving her fire armor. However, Laval and Cragger can't take the Fire Chi as they are unworthy so they take a Trial by Fire to prove themselves and after completing the trial and meeting Flinx, the two of them gain the power to use the Fire Chi and is able to distribute them to their respective tribes but the others will have to earn it themselves. So Fluminox demands that if the other tribes want the Fire Chi, they need to protect the Crescent, a hill that Laval describes is a home away from home for the Phoenix and so after a brief amount of time fighting the Hunters, they are successful in guarding the Crescent allowing the other tribes of Chima to gain the power of the Fire Chi and they power up themselves and their Speedorz and vehicles to fight the Hunters and they drive them away but a young Lioness named Li'Ella, is spotted by the leader of the Hunters, Sir Fangar and has a desire to marry her. The tribes take a small break from the fighting and Laval who meets Li'Ella for the first time, gives her and Flinx a tour of Lion City as she hasn't been there before, however, the Hunters are able to break into the Lion Temple and freeze the Sacred Pool, a fight then breaks out between the Lions and Hunters but Laval is outside with Li'Ella and Flinx with the Lion Legend Beast and this causes Lagravis to get frozen by Sir Fangar and taken back to their Ice Fortress, but Tormak - Li'Ella's adoptive father, arrives just in time to help fight the rest of the Hunters and unfreeze the Lions, he then heads back to the Phoenix afterwards but Laval then realizes his father is missing. With Lagravis gone, this makes Laval the temporary King of the Lions until he gets back which Laval isn't thrilled about but goes along with it as fast as he can so he can fight off the Hunters. But after realizing Flinx was with them, the Hunters launch another attack on the Lion City, hoping to capture him and a battle breaks out, but in the end, Flinx is saved but Li'Ella gave herself up to Sir Fangar so Flinx would be safe and they fly away to prepare for the wedding. In the Gorge of Eternal Depth, the Hunters are planning the wedding and Maula and Vardy are the ones setting up, Sir Fangar then thinks of a plan to find eight Fire Wing harnesses so that a Great Illumination doesn't happen, so he seeks out Tormak who is searching in rage for Li'Ella and Sir Fangar offers him a deal, he will give up the Lioness if Tormak gives him the Artifact which contains a map to the Fire Wing harnesses, he refuses at first, still chasing Sir Fangar down, but he ultimately decides to do so and he sneaks into the Phoenix Temple at the Crescent and takes out Lundor and the tiger guards so he can deliver the Artifact, but as he steps outside of the boundaries of when the Artifact can go, it blows up and incinerates Tormak turning him into a Panther which Eris has been seeing a lot in her dreams and Tormak runs away into the Outlands in shame with Fluminox hunting him down for his betrayal. Flinx, wanting to cheer up his father, heads out to find Tormak and bring him to justice, but later, he is standing directly over the Gorge of Eternal Depth, because Phoenix give off a flamnig aura, it melts the ice the Hunters left and drops him into the gorge, Fluminox along with Laval, Cragger and Eris then go out to rescue Flinx and Foltrax, Firox and Frax who are piloting the Blazing Bastion, fly into the gorge, but it is a trap as the Hunters begin to freeze the hole back up and toss rocks into the gorge to make them crash, after flying through a cave down in the gorge, the group is then trapped but a miracle comes along to help, ShadoWind, aka Lavertus - Laval's uncle. He survived the collapse of the Scorpion Caves and has been digging a way out ever since, after catching up with everyone, Lavertus hands each of them Golden Chi orbs so they can use it to get out of the gorge, after sometime, they are able to free themselves and escape the gorge where the fly back to the top of Mount Cavora which from there you can see the Outlands and beyond. Just then, a bright orange light makes itself known and it's Tormak, the essence of the Artifact seared itself inside of him and is now revealing itself. The group heads out to the Outlands to find Tormak and they eventually do and realize they this light is showing them a map to the Fire Wing harnesses and so they go out to get them, they find all eight near the Eagle Mountain, at Spiral Mountain, the Grand Archway, a shell in the Crocodile Swamp, an unbreakable rock in the Rhino Quarry, in a junk pile in Raven Town, a tree in the Sanctuary Forest and finally a harness at the Forever Rock. All eight of the main heroes suit up and fly together with their harnesses just as the final battle with the Hunters takes place however, after realizing they are losing, Sir Fangar orders to go back to the gorge and awaken the Ice Bears, a vicious tribe that they purposely left frozen for a reason, but Sir Fangar has them go anyway and so Vornon and VoomVoom head to awaken the Ice Bears when causes the Bears to finally awake from their nap as they felt the return of the Ice Bears and go to join the fight to stop the Ice Bears. The battle is fierce and the enemy is close to winning, but when all hope seemed lost, the eight heroes fly into the heart of Mount Cavora and with Flinx as the Ninth Phoenix, they all are successful is activating the Great Illumination, this cures all the Hunters back into regular living animals, the ice melts away and everything is finally restored in Chima, the Phoenix then left to their Mother Sun to resurrect. On top of Mount Cavora, Cragger asks Laval what he sees out there, he says he sees hope, he sees joy, he sees the power of nature bringing them together instead of pulling them apart. He sees a world with balance and a future without limits, but most of all, he sees the spirit of their friends and finishes by saying he sees the Legends of Chima. Cragger then asks one more question and that is how do they get down from Mount Cavora.
