“Beyond the edge of the world the sensei begins, there is a place called the Tower of Tears.”
The Tower of Tears was a prison tower in which various enemies of Master Wu were imprisoned. It had no doors or windows and only a Spinjitzu Master knew how to get in or out. It was blown up by Lord Garmadon.

Prior to the establishment of the ninja team, Wu held his defeated enemies within the Tower of Tears, hidden away in the farthest reaches of the world. One day however, Garmadon blew up the tower, releasing its former prisoners to wreak havoc across the lands and to seek revenge against Wu.
