“I'm not sure what will happen if they cast that spell-io. Maybe it'll be a new adventure. Something even better than this.”
“You're right-io. I don't know what I'll do without the boss-io anyway.”

History

History[]

Before Wu and Garmadon's journey[]

Sometime after Tanabrax learned how to use the medallion, he encountered Bunch and Moody, two thieves that wanted to be great henchmen. Because of this, he and Moody let themselves be turned into puppets by Tanabrax, who promised to let the two thieves rule by his side once he conquered Ninjago, but didn't keep it.

Many years later, Bunch and Moody were ordered to kidnap the villagers so Tanabrax could steal their souls and turn them into puppets.

The Lair of Tanabrax (flashback)[]

During the evening hours, Bunch led a group of puppets to the village under Tanabrax's orders to bring him another soul. Although Bunch and his puppets were successful in abducting a young man, the man's screaming woke up two ninja who had taken residence in the village for the night. Both ninja proceeded to demolish Bunch and his forces, forcing him to return to his dark master empty handed, much to the latter's displeasure.

The next evening, Bunch and Moody returned to the village with a larger force of puppets, conversing as they roamed the streets of the village, looking for a home they could enter. During their conversation, Bunch reminded his companion that they had to succeed tonight, otherwise Tanabrax would punish them severely if they failed him yet again. Fortunately, an opportunity presented itself in the form of one of the ninja, who was sleeping outside and completely vulnerable. Quickly, Bunch and his puppets captured the Ninja and brought him to their master's lair, where Bunch watched as Tanabrax stole Wu's soul and transformed him into a puppet as well.

Later, Bunch encountered Moody again during an assault on Tanabrax's lair, slamming his former compatriot for getting captured while attempting to convince him to rejoin Tanabrax's forces. When Moody refused to rejoin Tanabrax's ranks, Bunch attacked Moody, with both puppets knocking each other out in the ensuing struggle.

After Tanabrax's destruction, Bunch agreed to allow Garmadon to use his late master's medallion to return the kidnapped souls back into their original bodies, knowing fully well that he and Moody would cease to exist once the transference was completed, for their bodies had long wasted away. Following the completion of the spell, Bunch's puppet body crumbled and disintegrated as his soul was sent to the Departed Realm.

While his human form is unclear, Bunch's puppet form resembled a small wooden puppet in a form of a man that had sharp teeth, black spiky hair, and had a black bag with a picture of a grinning face on it for a shirt.
