Wu recounts his brother's story: the sensei recalls how, after defeating the Overlord, Garmadon's evil was purged and he became an ally of the ninja for a time. However, Garmadon was forced to sacrifice himself during the battle with Chen and his minions. Since the Cursed Realm, where Garmadon was exiled, was destroyed, the heroes believed they would never see him again. However, a mysterious biker gang bearing a symbol of the villain's face suddenly appears on the streets of Ninjago City, forcing Lloyd to reassemble the ninja team.

  • The story "The Mystery of the Masks" retells the events of the episode "The Mask of Deception", and "True Potential" retells the episode of the same name.
  • The third story is an extended version of Lloyd and Harumi's walk from the episode "The Jade Princess"
  • The story "Superbike" takes place during the episode "The Oni and the Dragon," right before Mr. E and Ultra Violet arrive at the bar.
  • Wu made a journal entry after the events of Season Nine.
    • Since the illustration shows him wearing a white kimono, it is most likely that the recording was made before the mini-episodes.
