LEGO is a toy company based in Denmark. Best known for producing interlocking plastic bricks, gears, and minifigures that can assemble anything imaginable.
They are the company behind the production of the Ninjago toyline and its associated media franchise.

The LEGO Company was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. The company started as a manufacturer of wooden toys, it quickly moved to the system of plastic bricks in 1947 when plastic became more generally used among many industries. Construction of wooden toys ceased in 1960 when a factory fire destroyed a significant portion of the wooden stock and the company saw that the plastic toys were more worth their while.
The company grew in the capabilities of the plastic brick. 1978 marked the introduction of the minifigure, the very first being a police officer. The following year, LEGO Space and Scala were introduced, marking the beginning of building kits centred beyond the setting of the Town theme. Eventually, LEGO began expanding the catalog further, with sets based around Pirates, Technic and Castle, the latter of these spawned a sub theme titled "Ninja," introducing ninja specific elements, such as ninja hoods, katanas and samurai helmets.
In 2011, LEGO added Ninjago to their catalog, a series that exploded in popularity and has been running near non-stop since. Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu was the first in-house theme to be accompanied by a full cartoon series, as opposed to a one off animated special. This feature has become a staple with following big-bang themes, such as Legends of Chima, Nexo Knights, Monkie Kid, and DREAMZzz. In 2016, Ninjago became an "Evergreen Theme," meaning the theme's continued success has led to it becoming a staple of LEGO's brand, placing it in the same regard as City, Star Wars and Friends.
