History

History[]

The Rise of the Great Devourer[]

The ninja arrived at Torchfire Mountain to destroy the Fangblades and ensure that the Great Devourer was never released from imprisonment. However, before they could throw the Fangblades into the volcano, Pythor sabotaged the ship's engines, causing it to tilt. The ninja and Wu almost fell into the volcano, but Nya caught them with her Samurai Mech.

Shadow of Ronin[]

Seeking to stop Ronin from using the Elemental Forges to free Chen from the Cursed Realm, Kai, Zane, and Wu travel to the Vault of Fire located inside Torchfire Mountain to retrieve the Forge of Fire while Jay, Cole, and Dareth travel to the Vault of Ice to retrieve the Forge of Ice, as obtaining just one of the four Forges prevents Ronin's plans from coming to fruition.

Trivia[]

  • Torchfire Mountain bears a few similarities to Mount Doom, a volcano from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Both are large, active volcanoes found in a harsh wasteland (Sea of Sand/Mordor), and the only place in their respective worlds (Ninjago/Middle Earth) where the heroes (the Ninja/Frodo and Sam) can destroy a powerful artifact (the Fangblades/the One Ring) needed to revive a great evil (the Great Devourer/Sauron).
