Save or be Saved
Save or be Saved[]
The Ninja and Wu escape Dead's End as Firstbourne causes chaos among the camp. Cole finds an old buggy to use as their escape vehicle, however Kai finds that there is very little fuel left in the buggy. As they drive away, Jay remembers seeing a truck as they were escaping and asks Zane to scan the area for it. He cannot detect a truck, but he does find Stormbringer's baby locked in a cage. Jay questions wether they should go back and free it, but Kai reminds them they are running low on fuel and the detour might end up with them caught by the incoming Dieselnaut. Wu, however, encourages them to free the dragon, as it would pay Firstbourne back for her role in freeing them from Dead’s End.
Cole turns the buggy around and drives towards the cage. A cable is tied between the cage and the buggy and Cole, with the Ninja pulling at the opening of the cage, manage to free the dragon. The victory is short lived, as the Dieselnaut roars quickly up to them. As it looks like the ninja and Stormbringer’s Baby are about to be run over by the rig, Firstbourne swoops in and picks them up in her claws. They appear home free, but the combined weight of the baby dragon and the buggy is weighing the Mother of Dragons down. In order for the dragons to escape capture, she has to let the Ninja go, causing the buggy to collide with the Dieselnaut, throwing Zane and Wu on top of the rig and Jay, Cole and Kai underneath it.
Zane and Wu recuperate, as a group of Hunters walk up to them. They contemplate jumping off, but the door to the cockpit opens, throwing the two onto one of the wheels; causing them to run over the wheel like hamsters. Meanwhile, the three underneath try to find a way out of their predicament. Kai uses his Fire power to blast the wheel that Zane and Wu are atop off the Dieselnaut. They climb up to the side of the rig and notice the wheel rolling away. They attempt to use the crane on the side to reel them back in. Iron Baron, however, mans the large harpoon atop the rig to harpoon the wheel, knocking Wu and Zane off. They grab a hold of the chain from the harpoon, knocking them, and the other three, off and dragging them behind the Dieselnaut. Iron Baron, gleefully, orders for the cage to be rolled over them. Before they can, however, Firstbourne flies in and grabs the chain, pulling Wu and the ninja to safety.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- Save or be Saved is set directly after "How to Build a Dragon."
- Wu is still in his Hunter disguise, despite not wearing it when they escaped in the episode.
- In the comic, Firstbourne helps the Stranded ninja and even takes them away from the Dragon Hunters. However, while not directly contradicting the lore, the comic devalues the later events of the season. In "The Gilded Path," the main goal of the ninja becomes to find the Dragon Armor so Firstbourne would help them return to Ninjago. If the comic is canon, then the Firstbourne would already be their ally, and they don't need Dragon Armor for it. It is also unknown why would Firstbourne leave the ninja in a middle of desert after saving them from the Dragon Hunters, especially since she should've sensed that Wu is the son of the First Spinjitzu Master after contacting with him.
Errors[]
- Daddy No Legs is missing his face in the fourth panel.
