Hail or Fail, Prince Jay!

Hail or Fail, Prince Jay![]

Shortly after Nya's victory over Murtessa in ritual combat, and her subsequent promotion to Queen of the Munce, Nya sat upon her newly won throne and commented that Jay should now be considered a prince due to her status. Moments later, several of the other Munce arrived and decked Jay in Vengestone armor and jewelry, declaring that it was for ceremonial purposes and essential for his next combat ritual. While Jay seemed confused by all this, Nya watched with a smirk and thought to herself that this would be perfect payback for Jay's earlier insinuation that Nya was his servant, not his yang. With glee, she then ordered for the ritual to begin as Jay was hurried down a flight of stairs.

Down the stairs, the Munce led him to a long slide carved into the mountainside, upon which stood at various points, two other Munce armed with axes. The one leading Jay explained that this was the Combat Roll Track, and he was to prove himself worthy by defeating the two guards below in the rolling fighting style of the Munce. Although Jay truly had no idea what he was doing, he leapt into the slide and rolled down, barreling through both guards before landing hard at the bottom, shattering his vengestone armor in the process. Unfortunately, the impact also broke open a section of the cave wall, behind which a large squadron of the Skull Sorcerer's Re-Awakened had been patrolling! Upon spotting the Munce behind the newly created crevice, the Re-Awakened flew into a rage and began charging at their enemies.

In the ensuing battle, the three ninja make quick work of the Re-Awakened, but are surprised to see that their enemies are capable of reassembling themselves and attacking once more! Realizing that they could not defeat the Re-Awakened simply by shattering them over and over, Jay thought up of a plan! The area behind the broken section of wall contained a river of lava, and Jay, Lloyd, and Nya began to hop through the river, intending to lure the Re-Awakened after them and away from the Munce. As their foes began to pursue as anticipated, the Ninja waited until all of the skeletons were lured into the lava river before leaping over them and back outside of the lava chamber. The three then combined their elemental powers to disrupt the lava river, causing it to spill upwards, where Nya then released jets of water to quickly cool it into stone, reforming the wall and trapping the Re-Awakened inside.

Victorious, Murtessa declared that both Queen Nya and Prince Jay were worthy rulers, and to celebrate, the three ninja would participate in the sacred winner dance! Although Jay expressed frustration and annoyance with the Munce's rituals, and even suggested abolishing them, Nya however admitted she quite liked the sacred winner dance ritual.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • Jay, Lloyd, and Nya are surprised to learn that the Re-Awakened are capable of reforming after being shattered, despite having fought them prior to the events during which this comic takes place.
  • This comic also suggests the bones of the Re-Awakened are strong enough to resist a quick dip in the lava, as they are seen running through the lava river and emerging mostly intact, albeit with some burn marks.
