Ambush on Haunted Hill[]

Kai and Jay were having fun with Sword of Sanctuary when a group of Ghost Warriors led by Ghoultar attacked them and captured Jay. Rushing back to Steep Wisdom, Kai informed the others about Jay's capture and emphasized that they had to save him. Zane noted that water was the weakness of ghosts, but unfortunately, Nya had not yet mastered her training over her elemental power yet. Nevertheless, she had a plan and informed everyone that they would all have a role to play.

Eventually, Ghoultar and the ghosts arrived on the grounds of Steep Wisdom and demanded the Sword of Sanctuary in exchange for Jay, warning that if the ninja preferred to keep the sword, they would never see their friend again. Carrying out Nya's plan, the ninja agree to hand over the sword as long as the ghosts agreed not to attack them. When Ghoultar affirmed that his warriors would not attack, Kai and Cole stepped out to greet the Scythe Master, but without the Sword of Sanctuary. Kai then claimed that the sword was lost when he was using it to butter his toast, further enraging the Scythe Master who then ordered his warriors to attack the pair out of frustration. In response, Kai produced the Sword of Sanctuary and ran off deeper into the tea shop grounds with Cole as the ghosts gave chase.

Led by Kai and Cole, Ghoultar and his warriors pursued the ninja and the sword to the waterfalls behind Steep Wisdom, realizing too late that they were being lured into a trap! Using her rudimentary control over Water, Nya manipulated the waterfalls into Ghoultar's army, destroying them all as the Scythe Master cursed his defeat. Although the ghosts were defeated, Jay remained chained to the abandoned Chain Cycle and was now being swept away by the wave Nya had created. Fortunately, Kai was able to rescue him.

Sometime later, Kai and Jay considered playing with the Sword of Sanctuary again, but Kai declined, noting it would be better to keep the weapon hidden instead. Jay then thanked Kai again for saving him, and the latter replied that ninja stick together and that Jay would've done the same for him!

Trivia[]

• The comic features a big amount of Ghost Warriors summoned after the ninja got the Sword of Sanctuary. However, this is impossible due to the Allied Armor of Azure being destroyed at the time. As such, the comic is considered non-canon.
• Steep Wisdom is represented by a mashup of 71767 Ninja Dojo Temple and 71764 Ninja Training Center.
• In spite of the comic's title, Haunted Hill does not appear unless Steep Wisdom is located on the same hill.
