Like all other snake warriors, the Boa Destructors' name is based on a species of snake, specifically the boa constrictor.

- Like all other snake warriors, Boa Destructors re-use the recolored head mold originally used on some Pyro Vipers.
- Unlike in most of the Ninjago: Core sets, the Boa Destructors have the same appearance as the Cobra Mechanics, Viper Flyers, and the Sneaky Snakes in 112217 Kai vs. Boa Destructor and the Ninjago Magazine.
- Their appearance as the other three snake warriors was first featured in the building instructions of 71776 Jay and Nya's Race Car EVO.
