History
History[]
Prior to The Lair of Tanabrax[]
At one point in time, Hana was born in an unnamed village as the granddaughter to Obachan and sister of Shin. One day before the arrival of the Sons of the First Spinjitzu Master to her village, her brother mysteriously disappeared. Although other villagers suggested that Shin had left for the city, Hana did not believe such an explanation, noting that her brother would not have left without saying goodbye. A little girl however claimed that she had witnessed Shin being taken by an army of Puppets, though everyone else in the village, including Hana, thought that was a ridiculous story. Hana however began to realize the truth of the little girl's story after the next few nights when more villagers began to disappear and Hana herself witnessed firsthand the living puppets the little girl had spoken of.
The Lair of Tanabrax (flashback)[]
One day, two weary young travelers arrived at Hana's family's market stand, looking to buy a single dumpling. Taking pity on the young boys, who seemed around her age, Hana asked her grandmother to give them a full plate of dumplings rather than the single one they could afford. The boys then introduced themselves as Wu and Garmadon and explained that they had been traveling for weeks on a long journey, but offered to help around the village the next morning to earn some money. In response to this, Ochaban insisted that the boys did not want to spend the night in the village, much to the confusion of the boys who noted that others in the village had told them the same thing but without explanation. At that moment, Hana began to explain that their village had recently suffered a spate of mysterious disappearances, but her grandmother cut her off before she could go into details. In spite of her grandmother's insistence that the boys should be on their way before nightfall, Hana provided the boys with a room in their home, stating that the next village was over a day's journey away and they would be safer here for the night.
Later that evening, after the boys rescued Hana and Obachan's neighbor, Kenji, from being taken by the Puppets, Hana and her grandmother finally revealed the truth of their village's plight to the brothers. During this conversation, the brothers decided to help save the village from its tormentor and to rescue those who had been taken by the puppets.
The next evening, Garmadon returned alone with a captured puppet, whom Hana and her grandmother joined Garmadon in interrogating. When the puppet revealed that the kidnapped villagers had been transformed into puppets themselves, Hana angrily demanded to know if such a fate had befallen on her brother as well, to which the puppet affirmed. Garmadon then had to restrain Hana from attacking the puppet in a fit of rage, explaining that he was their only source of information about Tanabrax and they needed him to defeat the dark puppet master and to save the kidnapped villagers. Hana would later participate in Garmadon's training of the villagers to assist him against Tanabrax and his army. During this training, Hana managed to impress Garmadon by being able to kick one of the training dummies further than anyone else, and she would accompany Garmadon later into Tanabrax's lair, sprinkling the way with flour to reveal any hidden booby traps and providing timely advice to allow Garmadon to entrap Wu's Puppet form and weaken Tanabrax enough to remove his medallion from him.
Following Tanabrax's destruction, Garmadon was able to return the souls of the kidnapped villagers back to their bodies, allowing Hana to be reunited with her brother. However, since Bunch and Moody's bodies had already long been lost to the passage of time, their souls instead were sent to the Departed Realm as their puppet bodies crumbled to dust. Hana said a tearful goodbye to Moody before he vanished, having since come to view the former general of Tanabrax's army as a friend. Afterwards, Hana and the rest of the villagers returned home where they held a feast to celebrate the return of their neighbors and the end of Tanabrax's terror. Hana would also thank Garmadon and Wu, expressing her gratitude for their heroism and noting that if they had never come to the village, she would probably have never been reunited with her brother.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- Although neither Hana nor Shin's ages are explicitly stated in The Lair of Tanabrax (beyond a brief mention that Hana appeared to be around Wu and Garmadon's ages at the time), it is possible that the siblings are twins as Garmadon described Shin as having a very similar appearance to Hana.
