History
History[]
Over 200 Years Before Skybound[]
Over 200 years ago, Nadakhan, the Crown Prince of Djinjago, was exiled by his father, Khanjikhan, due to his greed and resentment over being unable to grant wishes for himself. Eventually, Nadakhan would become known as one of the most infamous pirates in Ninjago's history, serving as the captain of the dreaded Misfortune's Keep. One night, the Misfortune's Keep ambushed the flagship of their greatest rivals, the Destiny's Bounty and her crew, led by Captain Soto. In the battle that followed, the Destiny's Bounty emerged victorious, with Nadakhan imprisoned inside of the Teapot of Tyrahn and his crew exiled and scattered across various realms.
Skybound[]
Having managed to escape from the Cursed Realm before its destruction, Clouse made his way to the City of Stiix in search of the Teapot of Tyrahn. After discovering the teapot, Clouse freed Nadakhan from his centuries of imprisonment and attempted to use his wishes in new plots of revenge against the Ninja, only to instead wind up captured in the Teapot himself.
Now free once more, Nadakhan made his way to Ninjago City where he would learn about the strange, new world he found himself in, discovering the fates of his crew, a way to bring them back, and about Ninjago's newest protectors, a team of Ninja. Nadakhan would put his plan into motion, stealing the Realm Crystal from its stronghold within Hiroshi's Labyrinth and framing the Ninja for an assortment of crimes to prevent their intervention with his actions. After restoring his crew through the powers of the Realm Crystal, Nadakhan expressed a sense of sadness for how history had forgotten about him and the Golden Age of Piracy as a whole. Despite his centuries of exile, Nadakhan decided now that it would be best for he and his crew to retire to his homeland of Djinjago, for in his mind, "it would be better to be in a place where you are hated than a place where you are forgotten." Unfortunately, after arriving in Djinjago, Nadakhan discovered to his shock and horror that the beautiful home he had once known was in ruins, with even the very land itself crumbling away into the ether. Discovering his father to still be alive, Nadakhan inquired as to what had befallen their home, to which his father explained that Djinjago's sister realm, the Cursed Realm, had been destroyed, and when one realm falls, its counterpart will as well. Khanjikhan then bestowed his son with the Sword of Souls, ordering his son to avenge him and their people as Nadakhan and his crew returned to Ninjago through the Realm Crystal.
Filled with a sense of rage and grief, Nadakhan would wage a campaign of retribution against the Ninja and Ninjago, capturing their souls within the Sword of Souls to allow Nadakhan to rip out chunks of land from Ninjago into its sky with the intention of creating a new Djinjago. After discovering that one of the Ninja was a spitting image of his lost love, Delara, Nadakhan sought the young woman's hand in marriage to further empower himself, for when a Djinn Prince marries on Djinn land, he is bestowed with the ability to grant unlimited wishes for himself. Ultimately, Nadakhan's campaign came dangerously close to succeeding, only barely losing thanks to Jay's final wish - that no one ever found the Teapot of Tyrahn in the first place. With his fate sealed, Nadakhan resigned himself to his fate as he declared that Jay's wish was granted, collapsing onto the ground as time rewound itself....
With Jay's final wish, Nadakhan became imprisoned once more inside the Teapot of Tyrahn, this time remaining trapped as Clouse was driven away by the residents of Stiix before he could obtain the Teapot, leaving Nadakhan imprisoned with full memories of all the events that had transpired in the now erased timeline.
Notwithstanding the events that were erased from history, Djinjago still crumbled due to the destruction of the Cursed Realm, ending the life of Khanjikhan, who never reunited with his long exiled son.

Trivia[]
- In "The Way Back," Nadakhan creates two statues of past djinn kings, with one of them being of his father, Khanjikhan. It is possible that the other one was of his paternal grandfather, but it is not confirmed.
- The Royal house of Djinjago does not necessarily have the highest connection to Djinjago and wish magic.[2]
