How to Tame a Dragon[]

Since mere mortals cannot enter the Underworld, the ninja needed the help of dragons. Kai asked the fire dragon for help, and it agreed. The other ninja had to find and tame other dragons, as each one could only be controlled by a warrior of the same element. Cole manages to overcome his fear of dragons and commands the earth dragon to obey. Zane logically explains why the ice dragon should help him. Jay, in turn, tries to tell the lightning dragon a joke, but it backfires. Then Jay tries to bribe the dragon with food, but that doesn't work either. Afterwards, the blue ninja assembles a special device that increases the volume of its roar, thus gaining the dragon's consent.

Quest for the Golden Weapons[]

Wu makes his way through the halls of the Underwold fortress. Suddenly, he hears Garmadon's voice and draws the Sword of Fire, illuminating the room. Surrounded by skeletons, Garmadon orders him to retrieve the weapon, but the sensei successfully fights him off using Spinjitzu. Samukai then enters the fray with three other artifacts in hand. While Master Wu defends himself from the Skeleton General's blows, Garmadon continues to watch the battle from the sidelines.

Meanwhile, outside the fortress, the Skeletons have surrounded the ninja team. Jay suggests that his comrades join forces and use the Tornado of Creation to defeat the enemies. Using the tornado, the heroes create a large Ferris wheel from nearby objects and the skeletons' weapons, trapping the enemies. The team then rushes inside the fortress to find Wu. They discover their master fighting Samukai and decide not to interfere in the fight. The Skeleton General freezes Wu's sword with Ice Shurikens, then summons a storm with the Nunchucks of Lightning, and finally uses the Scythe of Quakes to knock the final powerful artifact from his opponent's hands.

Garmadon orders Samukai to hand over the Golden Weapons, but the skeleton refuses, declaring that the dark lord will now obey him. To his surprise, Garmadon begins to laugh, and the weapon sways back and forth in Samukai's hands. Wu explains that no one can withstand the power of four weapons at once, and his evil brother adds that the Skeleton General has executed everything according to plan: now that the Golden Weapons are united, a vortex between time and space will open, allowing Garmadon to escape the Underworld. Samukai disappears, and a large vortex appears in his place.

Sensei Wu tries to convince his brother not to do this, but Garmadon promises to return to destroy the balance and reshape the world according to his vision, before entering a vortex and disappearing. His final words are that Wu was always his father's favorite. Sensei warns the heroes that his brother will return, but Cole boldly declares that the ninja will protect the world and prevent his dark plans from coming to fruition.

In her home village, Nya awaits the return of the team of heroes. They arrive and tell the villagers that Garmadon has escaped and is planning to return. They also add that they will be ready to fight him. Then the young warriors draw their Golden Weapons and cross them, forgetting that this is prohibited. A powerful impact sends them flying, after which Kai declares that the team should not do that again. The villagers surrounding them burst into laughter.
