Operation Heavy Metal: Machia is the first short film from the Operation Heavy Metal mini-series based around Cyrus Borg and Machia, who motivates him to work. It was released in English sometime in early 2017. It was later released in Chinese on LEGO's YouTube channel on May 23, 2017.

Cyrus Borg, who was threatened by Machia to build the time apparatus, says it cannot be done. He says he needs parts, so while Machia begins getting parts, Cyrus Borg builds a device. However, it explodes, making Machia angry. Cyrus Borg states he needs more parts, so Machia tells the Vermillion warriors to get metal.
