Tommy Andreasen (born April 21, 1974)[2][3] is a Danish producer and Senior Creative Manager at LEGO. He is a co-creator of Ninjago. He assists in the creation of storylines and designs,[4] and has some input, albeit minor, on the sets.[5] He is the writer of four of the mini-movies, all of the Tales from the Monastery of Spinjitzu shorts, and "Ninjago - Dream Team."
On October 10, 2022, he announced that he was ending his involvement with the franchise, with Crystalized being the last installment he would be involved in, outside of writing projects such as Way of the Departed and The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye.[6]

- In addition to his work on Ninjago, he has also worked on Legends of Chima, Nexo Knights, Hidden Side, and DREAMZzz.
- Other themes he has worked on include City, Racers, Orient Expedition, Games, 4+, Alpha Team, Ultra Agents, and "Tons of unreleased stuff."[9][10]
- When asked about his favorite between Ninjago, Legends of Chima, and Nexo Knights, he explained, "They are all great. They are three different types of show, so my mood will define my current favorite."[11] However, Chima is his favorite realm,[12] and Nexo Knights was the most fun to work on.[13]
- He is the author of two "could-be-canon" Ninjago stories, Way of the Departed and The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye.
- He, along with Sam Vincent, both share their names with professional basketball players.
- His favorite Ninjago minifigure is Kabuki Nya from the 2018 Bricktober pack[14] and his favorite set is the Movie Destiny's Bounty.[15] His favorite minifigure of all time is Eris from Legends of Chima.[16]
- Andrea Thomson's name sounds similar to his, but reversed.
- Disregarding Elemental Powers and pure strength, he believes Cole would win in sparring matchup.[17]
- Out of all the LEGO Ninjago characters, he relates to Cole and Wu.[18][19]
- Kai is not really his favorite, as he likes the other ninja more.[20]
- As of 2017, his favorite ninja were Jay, Nya, and Cole.[21][22][23] In 2018, his favorites were Jay and Nya with a focus on them as a couple,[24] and more recently, he has stated Cole is his favorite, with Nya "moving up the ranks."[25]

- When asked about his favorite character in 2025, he replied that he was “still fond of Cole”.[29]
- Pythor and Chen are some of his favorite villains thanks to their humorous natures.[30]
- Tournament of Elements is one of his favorite seasons, though he does not like the finale as much, while he appreciates Sons of Garmadon for its consistent quality throughout.[31] His other favorites, as of 2017, included Rise of the Snakes and The Hands of Time.[32] He later stated that he feels strongly about Seabound.[33] When asked about it again in 2025, he mentioned Crystalized, Master of the Mountain, Sons of Garmadon, The Hands of Time, and Tournament of Elements, while also writing that "all seasons have specific qualities".[34]

- He likes to draw cape on pictures of Wu, because they look very dynamic. He also thinks that WildBrain animates them well.[54]
- He advises to always consider the circumstances when one has criticisms of something.[55] For example, he spoke on the less positive reception of Nexo Knights when compared to Ninjago and the fact that Ninjago outshone Nexo Knights.[56]
- Sometimes he would draw characters and later reveal that they were characters shown or mentioned in then-unreleased episodes.[57][58]
- He "owe[s] a lot" to the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,[59] and the character E.T. is his favorite character of all time.[60]

- When asked between possessing either Wind or Earth, Andreasen said he would want Earth citing he would "have a much more interesting back yard then."[70]
- In "Return of the Ice Emperor" he can be seen as an actual character, who wears a brown hat.
- Before this episode, Tommy, unlike a few of his fellow crew members, did not make an appearance in the Ninjago TV series, although he appears in minifigure form in the book, Everything Is Awesome: A Search-and-Find Celebration of LEGO History.[71]

- In 2026, on the 15th anniversary of Ninjago, he stated that he only left the show if his boss would never ask him to come back, meaning that it's "unlikely" that he would work on the show again. He added that "Ninjago is in great hands".[90]

- In 2026, he wrote that he would've left Ninjago in 2018 if it continued the The LEGO Ninjago Movie's continuity as LEGO originally planned.[92]
