4 Feet High and Rising[]

Following Benthomaar's lead, Nya, Maya, Lloyd, Jay, and Zane seek to escape from the Merlopian Palace after Kalmaar's murder of his father. As the corridors begin to flood with seawater, the group trudge their way back to the hanger with the Hydro Bounty. Zane notes that the group only have half an hour left before the palace is completely submerged, and then the pursuing Maaray Guards would possess the advantage once they are within their element. Jay quietly whispers to Zane, asking if they should trust Benthomaar, noting that he was a "fish-head" as well. Overhearing Jay's concerns, Benthomaar stopped for a moment to explain that Trimaar's dying wish was for him to help the ninja, and he intended on keeping that promise.

As the group reaches the the next corridor that would lead back to the Hydro Bounty, they discover to their horror that the pathway has already been completely submerged, meaning they would have to dive in. Although Bethomaar naturally had no issue with this, Zane noted that the levels of oxygen remaining in their tanks was at 1%, and they could not possibly last unless the dive was for no more than one minute. Fortunately, Nya noted that since they were surrounded by her element, she could control the water to form an air bubble around them to keep them all safe as they dove. The other ninja then watched in wonder as Nya encapsulated them within a massive air bubble, with Zane noting that with this bubble and his lack of needing oxygen, they would have enough oxygen to last for eight hours before their exhaled carbon dioxide suffocated them. Through gritted teeth, Nya asked for the others to stay quiet, noting she had to concentrate hard in order to both maintain the bubble as well as to push the water currants from behind so that they could move forward. Maya watched her daughter's abilities with a proud smile, remarking that she was slowly regaining control over her elemental powers and that Wu would be proud of her if he saw this right now. Speaking of Wu, Maya wondered what he was up to at this moment.

Meanwhile, Wu was buried in books at the Monastery of Spinjitzu's library. As Kai and Ray walked in, Wu discovered a passage about the Amulets of Wojira and surmised that the Wave Amulet must have been responsible for Nya's loss of control over her powers. Wu then explained to his friends that when used together, alongside the Storm Amulet from the Island of the Keepers, the amulets could be used to unleash catastrophic power. Since someone must have already found the Wave Amulet, Wu noted they too must be after the Storm Amulet as well, but the ninja are too divided at the moment to return to the Island of the Keepers to protect it. Speaking of their friends, Wu wondered how the Ninja who went to Merlopia were doing at this moment.

Back in Merlopia, the Ninja continued on with their slow pace in Nya's air bubble. Lloyd expressed reservations about their speed of travel, but Maya defended her daughter, noting that she had to concentrate and was doing her best. Lloyd's concerns however were seemingly validated seconds later when Jay pointed out that the Maaray Guards had found them and were attacking from behind. Exposed and vulnerable to the guards' energy blasts, Zane used his powers over Ice to freeze the interior of the bubble, momentarily shielding them from the guards' barrage, but also at the cost of their movement and airflow. Without new oxygen flowing into the bubble, due to its exterior being completely sealed off, Lloyd was forced to fire energy balls at their surroundings in an effort to slightly melt the ice and free their movement. Outside, realizing that the ice had been reduced to slush, the guards resumed their offensive, though their energy blasts could not completely penetrate the slushy ice. Jay then released currents of electricity towards the Maaray Guards, momentarily shocking and incapacitating them.

Continuing along their way, the Ninja's respite however is short lived, as Nya was now far too exhausted to maintain the bubble any longer. Fortunately, the end of the corridor was nearby, close enough for them to hold their breathe and swim to the end. Emerging into the half submerged hanger, Bethomaar asked the Ninja what took them so long, noting that the corridor was supposed to be a shortcut! Before pressing forward, Zane froze the entrance to prevent the guards from following as Benthomaar led them to their ship.
