With the Time Twins lost in time, the Ninja, alongside Ray and Maya, journey on the Destiny's Shadow to return the Reversal Time Blade to its resting place inside the Hono Mizu beneath the Boiling Sea. By using their Fusion Dragon, Kai and Nya were able to descend back to the library, only to discover that the entrance remained blocked by the earthquake they had triggered by removing the blade originally. As the siblings disagreed over using the time blade's reversal powers to remove the rubble rather than clear it all by hand, they were interrupted by a gigantic, three headed Geotomic Rock Monster. Although initially attempting to fight the monster conventionally to no avail, the siblings remembered how they defeated the monsters during their previous visit by combining their powers over Fire and Water. After defeating the monster, the pair returned the reversal time blade to its resting place and resealed the gates before returning to the Temple of Airjitzu, only to discover that their fellow Ninja were busy packing. When Nya expressed confusion over the current state of affairs, Lloyd explained that they were leaving the temple to begin their search for Wu, and they would not rest until they find him.

  • The comic takes place after "Lost in Time" and shows Kai and Nya brining the Reversal Time Blade back to Hono Mizu.
  • At the end of the comic, the ninja split up to find Wu, a similar plot point is present in the could-be-canon novel Way of the Departed, however, in the novel, Lloyd and Nya are grouped together while in the comic, the grouping is the same as "The Mask of Deception".
