After defeating Gravis, the Ninja muse over their next courses of action in their search for Sensei Garmadon. In spite of Cole's warning that they must all be alert and on guard, due to being on an unfamiliar island, Jay nevertheless found himself distracted by these curious metal objects protruding above the ground. Reaching out to touch one, however, ironically jolted the Master of Lightning with a powerful electrical shock. Realizing that the buzzers seemingly marked a path through the jungle, the Ninja decided to follow them, hoping that they could lead them to their Sensei.
After two hours of aimless wandering, it was clear now that they were lost. Cole and Jay briefly bickered over whose leadership could have been more successful when a snake slithered down a nearby tree branch, startling the four. Kai quickly dispatched the serpent as Cole and Jay continued bickering again. Continuing onward, Lloyd tripped over an unseen root and pricked himself against the thorns of some nearby bushes. Feeling woozy, Lloyd fell to the ground as his vision blackened, the last thing he saw being his friends standing before him.
Some time later, Lloyd regained consciousness and, to his surprise, Nya was now with the group. Although Lloyd could not recall her presence on the Island, the rest of the ninja downplay this fact, insisting that Nya was always here with them. Although Lloyd is still weak from the thorn's poison, he insists anyway that they must press on to find his father. After trudging deeper into the jungle for some time, the group reached a large gate bearing the symbol of the Anacondrai on it. In spite of Kai's warning that the door was a trap, Cole and Jay insisted that they could easily defeat any snake that comes by. Suddenly, everyone, save for Lloyd, began chanting in unison as beams of energy emitted from their eyes and toward the symbol on the door, causing it to slowly open. As the gates swung open, a lone Cultist stepped out and declared, "Welcome to your doom!"
Lloyd then effortlessly defeated the Cultist with Spinjitzu before he and the others made their way through the gate. Strangely though, when Lloyd asks his allies how they opened the gate, none of them have any memory of the gate even opening in the first place! As they venture deeper into the cave, they discover a wall of crystals containing an army of sleeping Cultists. Just like before with the gate, Lloyd's allies began chanting in unison while releasing beams of energy from their eyes towards the crystal wall. Horrified, Lloyd could do nothing but watch as the Cultists awoke and broke free from the crystal walls, rushing past the ninja and towards the exit. Although Lloyd insisted they must fight and stop their foes, Nya instead turned towards Lloyd, telling him that he must realize things are hopeless. Nevertheless, Jay, Cole, and Kai stand by Lloyd and the four activate their elemental powers, blasting the Cultists. Suddenly, "Nya" began to glow with energy as "she" reveals herself to actually have been a Cultist all along! The Cultist then grows to an enormous size, filling the cavern with evil laughter as he declares that the ninja were no match for him. With one mighty kick, the Cultist sends Cole and the others sprawling across the cavern before turning his sights on Lloyd, raising his foot into the air to crush the helpless green ninja.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Kai, Cole, and Jay have all gathered around Lloyd's unconscious body. Kai remarks that Wu once told him that certain plants could give people vague visions of the future while Jay expresses hope that Lloyd would wake up soon. Not long after having said this, Lloyd begins to stir, demanding to know where the Anacondrai Cultists were. Bemused, Kai asked Lloyd if he was alright, noting that the plant's poison had knocked him out for a few hours. In response, Lloyd insisted that what he had experienced had been no dream, but rather, a warning: Chen could not be trusted!
