Overview
The following is a list of all the themes and soundtracks first introduced in the fourth season of Ninjago.
Master Chen's theme
Master Chen's theme[]
Master Chen's theme was often reprised in the presence of Chen himself. The theme sounds sinister, tying in with Chen's character. It is often played with various instruments, including strings, chants, drums, and the plucking of guitar strings. Chen's theme took on many forms throughout season four, though it has not been reprised much since. Tracks such as "The Uncharted Island" and "The Tournament of Elements" have exemplified Chen's theme.
Anacondrai theme
Anacondrai theme[]
The Anacondrai theme serves as a theme for both the Anacondrai tribe and for the Anacondrai Cultists. The theme was often used during flashbacks/mentions of the Anacondrai, and scenes with the Anacondrai warriors. The theme sounds very triumphant, and can also sound mysterious and even sinister. It is often played using horns and drums. The theme appeared many times throughout season four but has not been reprised since. Tracks such as "The Serpentine War" and "Chants, Traps and Snakes" exemplify the Anacondrai theme. The track "The Greatest Warriors" reprised the theme in a more positive and uplifting key, to represent the Anacondrai generals as protagonists.
Skylor's theme
Skylor's theme[]
Skylor's theme is often played on harp and flute in Season 4, but the harp can be heard in isolation in later seasons. The track "Meet the Elemental Masters" features Skylor's theme.
Prison break theme
Prison break theme[]
This track was composed for the noodle factory story line in season four. The theme has an exciting, daring, and somewhat jazzy sound, imitating the music of movies in the heist genre. A version of the theme played when Cole attempted to escape the factory in "Spy for a Spy", and the theme later appeared as the track "And That's The Kink" when Cole and the other Elemental Masters broke into the Anacondrai Temple with the Roto Jet in "The Forgotten Element."
The track was reused for the ninja's escape from Kryptarium Prison in "Enkrypted", a season six episode. It also appeared when Lloyd was racing to get to work on time in "Lloyd's Late," when Buffmillion threatens children in "Operation Heavy Metal: Buffmillion," briefly when Jay referred to "Garmadon the good guy" in "Rise of Garmadon," and during the Laughy's brawl in "Ninjago Confidential."
Opening the Cursed Realm
Opening the Cursed Realm[]
The soundtrack, originally composed for Clouse and Garmadon's battle in "The Day of the Dragon," was later used in "The Corridor of Elders" when the Anacondrai condemned Chen to the Cursed Realm. It was used again when the Sky Pirates escaped Djinjago in "Enkrypted" and when Wu fought the Time Twins on the Iron Doom at the end of "Lost in Time."
