Overview
The Ice Emperor is an illusory counterpart to Zane, created by Wu during his Spinjitzu Virtues trials for the ninja.

As part of Wu's trials, Kai and Jay found themselves confronting this version of the Ice Emperor inside a facsimile version of the Castle of Ice. Desiring to see for himself the virtues ninja were said to embody, the Emperor challenged Kai and Jay to defeat two of his Blizzard Samurai in a joust; if they won, the Emperor would allow the ninja to pass onwards to the next challenge.
After Kai won the first round, Jay engaged in the second but both he and the opposing samurai were knocked off their steeds. The Emperor congratulated the ninja and declared he would now punish his underlings for failing. Jay intervened and admitted that he also was knocked off in the joust, impressing the Emperor who revealed that the true test was one of honesty. The Emperor then created the portal for the ninja to advance and ceased to exist.
