In LEGO Battles: Ninjago (non-canon)[]

Santa is a playable character in the game. He could be unlocked by playing the game on days near and on Christmas (December 12 to 25). He is a ranged attacker who throws presents at enemy attackers. In his first upgrade he rides atop a horse and in his second upgrade he gains two elf units and loses his horse.

• He appears to be based on the previously-existing LEGO Santa Claus minifigure, specifically the version that debuted in 1998.
• Santa was first mentioned in the TV show in "Can of Worms" when Kai mistakenly took Samurai X as Santa while under the influence of Venomari venom. Santa was mentioned again in "Child's Play" when a Police Officer jokingly said he was Santa Claus.
  • Despite this, Tommy Andreasen confirmed that Christmas does not exist in the world of Ninjago,^[1] though it's possible a similar holiday exists.^[2]
    • However, Andreasen did write five Christmas shorts in 2012 that went unproduced due to a lack of budget.^[3]
  • Tommy Andreasen's explanation of this is: "Don’t base your world view on statements from drugged up people. They see and say weird things."^[4]
  • An extremely similar holiday exists in Chima, as seen in the webisode "Merry Chima Everyone!".^[5]
• Garmadon is dressed as Santa in 4002021 The Temple of Celebrations, and one of Tommy Andreasen's poems describes him as coming down the chimney like Santa Claus.^[6]
  • Garmadon's movie counterpart also wears a Santa hat in the final two The LEGO Ninjago Movie mini-movies and addresses Santa in the latter one, in which he begins to state his Christmas list.
