Background[]

At some point in time, the Alpha was born in the Realm of Oni and Dragons, or came into existence. More Oni arrived as a result, and the War of Oni and Dragon began between the Oni and their creation wielding mortal enemies, known as the dragons. The Alpha's role in the war status afterwards remains a mystery.

• Destruction: The Alpha contains the powers of Destruction, being the first user of the essence. It's unknown how much the Alpha's destruction compares in power to other users like The Omega and Garmadon.
  • Shapeshifting: As an Oni, The Alpha possesses the ability to shapeshift.

• The Alpha's name is a reference to the fact that the Alpha symbol is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and traditionally denotes the first or the beginning of something.
  • It is commonly known along with the last letter of the Greek alphabet, 'Omega', and has ties to the Biblical reference of "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end."
• The Alpha is one of the oldest characters of the series.
• The Alpha is one of 3 full blooded Oni that have official names, the others being The Omega and Mystake.
• The essence of Destruction is indirectly linked to the Source Dragons in the same way the Overlord's essence of Darkness is indirectly linked.^[2]
  • It is entirely possible that the Alpha behaves as a source of Destruction similarly to how Thunderfang behaves as a source of Chaos.
    • When asked whether the indirect connection to the Source Dragons was a result of the Oni coming into existence, Chris "Doc" Wyatt responded with "pretty close,"^[3] adding some plausibility to the Alpha being the origin of Destruction.
