Designer's notes

Designer's notes[]

"This one was a bit different as it was based on something pre existing. Our challenge with the Legacy sets for Ninjago was to show the progress of LEGO building through the years since the release of the original sets. Keeping the function of the original design was a must as it is something that defines this model. To make this model worth it I had to figure out a way to unfold the wings in reliably way without just copying the original, something that would inspire new ways of thinking and doing things to anyone building this set. Leonardo Lopez did the concept model for this one and the updated aesthetics design is in part thanks to him."[2]
