The amulet is an ancient artifact that could be used to open the Shadow Dojo.

The Wyldness[]
When Garmadon left Chen to join Wu in the Serpentine War, Chen gave him the amulet and the map as a parting gift. Chen told Garmadon that he would need the power of the Forbidden Five to end the war. Garmadon asked if the map and amulet will take him to the Five. Chen said he could find their power by traveling to the Wyldness and finding the Shadow Dojo.
When Garmadon entered the building found on the map, he was confused on how to enter the Wyldness. When he took out the amulet, the circular floor suddenly started to glow. It lowered Garmadon into a room with a pool. He jumped in and swam through it under the assumption it was the portal. He arrived in the Wyldness, gasping for air. Eventually, Garmadon arrived at the Shadow Dojo. With Chen's amulet in hand, he invoked the Forbidden Five to seek their knowledge and powers. Just then, the dojo's door creaked open.

- Chris "Doc" Wyatt suggested that the amulet served as an alternative means to access the Shadow Dojo aside from Source Dragon energy after it was permanently sealed, which the Dragon Masters did not acknowledge, as he implied that Garmadon using the amulet to open the Shadow Dojo was a real event that the Dragon Masters were oblivious to.[1]
- According to Tri Vuong, the amulet contains a Source Dragon's scale, explaining why the amulet is an alternative way to open the dojo, which is only supposed to be accessible with Source Dragon energy.[2]
