Overview
- This article is about the realm. For the comic, see The Wyldness.
The Wyldness, formerly known as the Realm of the Wyldness,[11] was one of the realms before the Merge and is now part of the Merged Lands. It's a multi-terrain realm full of many different biomes inhabited by many different species of sentient life. It is composed among other things, a volcanic region called the Lava Wastes inhabited by Lava-Tides and Lava Dragons, and a dense and dark forest region called the Forest of Spirits. There is also a floating Island called Chima covered in jungles, mountains, and swamps, which are inhabited by various species of anthropomorphic animals. The realm was the native land of the Forbidden Five and their army, which greatly affected the inhabitants and landscapes of the world millennia ago. After their banishment, their successor Lord Argus accidentally released a curse on the Wyldness while manipulated by Zaiden Kane, a sorcerer who sought a sixth member of the Forbidden Five. However, the Children of the Wolf managed to lift the realm's curse with the help of Garmadon and rebuild the Wolf Clan though a new faction of the Clan was assembled by Ras and his Master.
History
History[]
Prior to the series[]
At an unknown point in time, the Wyldness came into existence as one of the realms. At some point the First Spinjitzu Master would visit the realm.[12]
The Wyldness in ruins by the Forbidden Five millennia ago.
Millennia ago, a group of Elemental Masters known as the Forbidden Five established the Wolf Clan in the Wyldness, particularly within the Forest of Spirits. However, the very abilities that initially empowered the Wolf Clan ultimately corrupted it, turning the clan evil.[13] They became relentless agents of chaos, and by using Shatterspin, the Forbidden Five unleashed devastation across the Wyldness, leaving destruction in their wake and forcing the inhabitants to either submit to their tyranny or face death. They made alliances with some tribes although their alliances broke. To the Forbidden Five, their actions were a demonstration of dominance over the Wyldness, but in reality, they were driving the realm toward annihilation, a fate they intended to replicate across all realms. The Dragon Masters, and possibly the Phoenix tribe,[14] recognized the threat. They eventually intervened and banished the Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space.[15][16]
In the aftermath, Argus assumed leadership of the Wolf Clan, attempting to steer the wolf warriors in the same path as the Forbidden Five. Under the influence of Zaiden Kane, Argus struck the Gong of Shattering to perform Shatterspin, which unleashed a devastating curse that trapped the Wyldness in a state of half-life. Consequently, the Wyldness was considered a cursed land, leaving the realm in a state of desolation that persisted for countless ages.[10]
Following Garmadon's team-up with the Children of the Wolf, and the death of the Lycan King, the curse was lifted and many petrified Wolf warriors were revived and presumably freed from their corruption. At some point, the realm entered a medieval period that eventually ended.

Curseworld, Part II[]
While Morro and Lloyd traversed dimensions during their battle for the Realm Crystal, they landed atop Spiral Mountain, a landform in the realm, which is on the floating island of Chima. There, Laval, Cragger, and their friends were sitting before being alarmed by Lloyd and Morro. Laval inquired about their origin. Yet, Morro swiftly guided himself and Lloyd to another realm.
Between seasons[]
The Wyldness was attacked by the Oni, with the inhabitants all turned to stone.[note 1] However, the effects reversed when the ninja defeated the Oni in Ninjago.
Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu[]
The Kaiju Protocol[]
While trying to reach the ninja in the Never-Realm, Wu and P.I.X.A.L. open a portal to the Wyldness, unleashing a group of beavers on them. They return to their home after P.I.X.A.L distracts them with a broken broom they want to fix.
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
I Will Be the Danger (flashback)[]
Heatwave lived by himself in the Lava Wastes, until a ship crash landed not far from where he was eating lava. He went to investigate and found a robot asking for assistance in raising a baby it contained inside. Naming the baby Wyldfyre, Heatwave was at first not fond of her, until he saved her from falling off a cliff when she was trying to grab a Wyldmelon from a tree that the cliff was over. One time, Wyldfyre tried to touch fire, but was stopped by the robot, briefly scolding her by telling her fire is danger. As she grows, Wyldfyre enjoyed riding Heatwave and lying on his chest whenever he was on his back. After learning the word 'family', Wyldfyre knew Heatwave was her family, along with the robot. One night, a coalescence occurred while the three were asleep and sometime after, Wyldfyre, while trying to grab a melon, discovered flames coming out her hands, indicating she has become an Elemental Master, surprising Heatwave, the robot, and herself. The robot soon reprogrammed itself to train Wyldfyre on how to control her powers, as well as combat. Several years later, while relaxing her feet in a hot spring, Wyldfyre heard Heatwave's frantic roaring and saw the Claws of Imperium taking him away. Upon gathering supplies, Wyldfyre, against the robot's warning, went to rescue him, proclaiming she will be the danger.
Wyldly Inappropriate[]
In their quest for the purple Dragon Core, Kai and Wyldfyre set their course towards the Lava-Tides' Village within the Wyldness. However, their arrival was met with a frosty reception due to Wyldfyre's mischievous pranks played on the Lava-Tides in the past. The Lava-Tides adamantly refused to hand over the Dragon Core unless Wyldfyre took responsibility by repairing all the damage caused by her playful antics. After successfully repairing all the messes, Kai and Wyldfyre eagerly approached the Lava-Tides to claim the Dragon Core. However, to their dismay, the Lava-Tides tossed the Dragon Core into the Pit of No Return and revealed that the entire ordeal had been a prank orchestrated to exact revenge on Wyldfyre and trick her into cleaning the village without any real intention of fulfilling their promise. Kai and Wyldfyre ventured to Pit of No Return, determined to retrieve the Dragon Core. However, they understood the pit's moniker, owing to its infestation of Death Wasps. They evaded the swarm and effectively sealed the Pit of No Return. However, their efforts were in vain as they were confronted by Dorama and his Imperium Guards, who seized the Dragon Core.
They Call It Doom[]
In the Lava-Tides' Village, a battle ensued between Kai and Wyldfyre, Dorama and his Imperium Guards, and the Lava-Tides, all vying for possession of the Dragon Core. In midst of the conflict, Wyldfyre inadvertently used Heat to enlarge the Lava-Tide Leader, granting her an advantage over the other parties and nearly resulting in the destruction of Kai and Wyldfyre. Heatwave intervened, but sustained a severe injury from the Lava-Tide Leader. Despite the setback, Kai and Wyldfyre managed to escape with the Dragon Core, not realizing that it was a replica. They rode on Heatwave and retreated to the outskirts of the Wyldness.
Land of Lost Things[]
As they try to figure out how to heal Heatwave, Kai took off, having remembered something and Wyldfyre followed him to see him smashing rocks, which she believed was a waste of time until he told her he was looking for geodes, eventually finding some with her help. They then return to Heatwave to melt the crystals to apply to the wound, which soon cooled down.
The Administration[]
While waiting for the melted crystals to heal Heatwave, Wyldfyre becomes impatient before Kai decided to pass time by practicing forms. She initially chews him out for being patient, amusing Kai as he was just like her when he was younger, until Wu taught him how to practice forms after losing Nya to the Endless Sea before resuming and insisted Wyldfyre to join in, which she does after a little reluctance. After some time had passed, Heatwave had recovered from his wound, relieving Wyldfyre. But as they prepare to leave, they discover they were holding the replica core and destroy it to show it was casing and a light bulb.
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
The Blood Moon[]
Ras brings Jordana to the Wyldness and she expresses astonishment as she was taught that the Wyldness solely consisted of the Lava Wastes. Ras explains otherwise and names the many landmarks before mocking the Imperians for belittling the other realms aside from Imperium. Then, they arrive at the Shadow Dojo where Ras demands that Jordana gives him the Source Dragon energy she extracted from the Source Dragon of Energy. She does so and Ras uses it to open the doors to the Shadow Dojo. He declares his intentions to access its dark secrets and release the Forbidden Five from the Nether-Space. Later, Ras has Jordana study the Theroxian scrolls inside the dojo before introducing her to Cinder, the Master of Smoke. Once Cinder returns with the Mallet of Shattering, Ras assembles his own Wolf Clan and hits the Gong of Shattering.

During Wyldfyre's explanation of Heatwave to Lloyd, she mentioned that she had been raised by the dragon in the Wyldness. Hearing the name of the location and Wyldfyre's story of being raised by a dragon, Lloyd realized that this was the reason for Wyldfyre's aggressive behavior.
We Are All Dragons[]
Kai and Wyldfyre had a mishap when they accidentally destroyed the shoulder pad storage. Upon investigation, Kai discovered that the reason for this was because Wyldfyre had the map upside down. Wyldfyre defended herself by stating that Kai was at fault for giving her a city map, considering she was raised in the Wyldness, which he didn't deny.

LEGO.com description[]
One of the 16 parallel realms connected to the NINJAGO world, Chima is a world filled with intelligent, talking animals capable of walking on two legs. The various tribes have access to a surprisingly high level of technology and rely on a power source called CHI. It was the site of an epic battle between two alliances over the control of CHI, until other threats forced the warring sides to make peace and work together.[24]

Trivia
Trivia[]
- Its name is derived from "Wildness," which is used to describe someone who lacks discipline. The trait is often alluded to by the characters in some of the episodes or that the people of the realm are mostly animals.
- Tommy Andreasen has stated that this (specifically the island of Chima) is his favorite realm.[26]
- It's unknown whether the Cloud Kingdom affects the Wyldness,[27] or whether disgraced warriors from the Wyldness go to the Underworld.[28]
- The Mother Sun is similar to the Preeminent in that both are female deities that are the living incarnation of the realm. They both have an apparent control over their respective realms and are masters of a large group of beings with unique, distinct powers. Additionally, neither the Preeminent nor Mother Sun were seen talking. Also their existence following The Merge is unknown.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, the First Spinjitzu Master may have brought the Serpentine from Chima. One hint at this is the blue orb on Pythor's chest.[29]
- The creators of Legends of Chima specifically did not include snakes in the TV series because there were already snake people in Ninjago.[30]
- According to Tommy Andreasen, in addition to the original inhabitants of Chima, Serpentine can also use CHI.[citation needed]
- The Wyldness exists as a fictional world within Nexo Knights.[31]
- The realm passageway under the Forever Rock is only known by the Phoenixes and possibly Eris.[32] However, members of the Wolves or Ravens such as Worriz and Razar would likely be the ones to use the passageway if they found it.[33]
- When Chris "Doc" Wyatt was asked if the whole life energy of the Wyldness came from Mount Cavora, he replied that this is difficult to answer.[34]
- The Wyldness is similar to the Matoran Universe from Bionicle, as both are realms in an apocalyptic state, with an island paradise above them.
- it is currently the realm with the most amount of screen time in Dragons Rising not to have its portal gate revealed.
- The Wyldness is the realm that holds the record for the longest time without a confirmed name. It first appeared in Curseworld, Part II, (and chronologically in the first episode of Legends of Chima) and finally had its name revealed in "Mindless Beasts," almost 9 years after the end of Legends of Chima.
- Before this, it was widely assumed the realm was Chima.
