Ninjago soundtrack/Legacy of the Green Ninja

Overview

Legacy of the Green Ninja

The following is a list of all the themes and soundtracks first introduced in the second season of Ninjago.

Day Jobs

Day Jobs[]

This track was composed for the montage in "Darkness Shall Rise", though it was mostly cut from the episode.[1] It has an upbeat sound, always representing progress being made in some way. It later appeared in "Winds of Change" when the ninja started using their Elemental Powers to attract customers for Steep Wisdom, "Operation Land Ho!" when Jay assembled the Ninja Replacements, "The Weakest Link" when the stranded ninja were training with Chain Rifles, and "Wasted True Potential" when the ninja fell victim to Wu's various traps.

Misako's theme

Misako's theme[]

Misako's theme has been reprised numerous times throughout the series. Misako's theme is often played with a flute, giving a calm and serene vibe to the character. Her theme is best represented by the track "Misako," and is also exemplified by tracks such as "I Have You Now," which features an action rendition of the theme, and "Lessons from Chen," which features a brief reprise of the theme.

The Overlord's theme

The Overlord's theme[]

The Overlord's theme serves as the theme for The Overlord. The theme has been reprised numerous times in seasons two and three, naturally in the presence of The Overlord or whenever he's mentioned. The theme is usually played with eerie vocals, which are accompanied by horns and strings. In Rebooted, the theme gained a techno vibe to go with the new Digital Overlord. In this season, the theme is exemplified by tracks such as "Horns of Destruction," "The Dark Island Rises." In season three, the theme is exemplified by tracks such as "The Overlord Virus" and "Built To Protect."

The theme has been reprised various random times throughout the series. For instance, when Lord Garmadon kills Mr. E in "Iron & Stone," "The Metamorphosis" is reprised, with The Overlord's theme playing as Mr. E is ripped apart. The musical connection may compare how Garmadon is destructive like The Overlord.

The theme made its true return in Crystalized, eight years after The Overlord's last appearance. With his return as the "Crystal King", The Overlord's theme is reprised in many new tracks, often being played with horns and strings. Previous tracks from season two, namely "The Dark Island Rises" and "The Metamorphosis", are also brought back in the season. The tracks "Wu Meets the Crystal King" and "The Crystal King's New Form" exemplify The Overlord's theme in Crystalized.

Stone Army theme

Stone Army theme[]

The Stone Army's theme serves as the theme for the Stone Army. The theme was reprised numerous times throughout season two. The theme has a more barbaric vibe to it, with the violent clashing of horns and chimes. The track "March of the Stone Army" exemplifies the Stone Army theme.

It was also used for the Sky Pirates in Season 6's episode "The Last Resort".

Dareth's theme

Dareth's theme[]

Dareth's theme serves as the theme for Dareth. The theme has more of a hip hop vibe to it, often being played with a saxophone. It has been reprised numerous times throughout the series, naturally in the presence of Dareth. The track "Grand Sensei Dareth's Mojo Dojo" exemplifies Dareth's theme.

Fritz Donnegan theme

Fritz Donnegan theme[]

The Green Ninja theme serves as the basis for the Fritz Donnegan theme, which is played in "Child's Play" and "Misfortune Rising" and briefly in "Only One Can Remain" and "The Corridor of Elders." It was released as part of the "Ninjago Theme Mashup."

Temple of Light

Temple of Light[]

This track is played when the ninja gain new suits and abilities at the Temple of Light in "Island of Darkness". The beginning uses the Ninjago Overture. It is played again during "Masters Never Quit" when they discover the Heart of the Mountain. Part of the track was also reprised when Zane becomes golden in "Enter the Digiverse". Part of the soundtrack also plays when the Adventure-Ready Woman is climbing the Cliffs of Hysteria in "I am Okino."
