Farewell to Samurai X[]

In one of Ninjago's seedier neighborhoods, Jay and Nya wander down an alley, dressed as mascots for Super Tasty Chicken. As they walk, Nya grumbles about the disguise, complaining that she was hot inside the smelly costume and that they were hardly incognito at all dressed like chicken mascots! When she then asks Jay where and how he even got the costumes, the Ninja of Lightning smiles and explains that he received them courtesy of the manager of Super Tasty Chicken, who was happy to have some free advertising, though the uniforms had to be returned tomorrow morning.

As the pair round a corner, Nya caught a glimpse of Bucko patrolling the streets and in a hushed tone, she grabbed Jay's arm and dragged him back down the alley to avoid detection. Unfortunately, in their haste, the pair tripped and crashed into several trash cans. After hiding inside the cans for some time, the pair cautiously stepped out and wondered where they should go next. Jay suggested his father's estate, though Nya was quick to shoot the idea down, warning that Nadakhan would find them there immediately; they would need to find someplace no one else knew about.

Ditching the mascot costumes, Nya led Jay to the Sea of Sand, bringing him down to the secret Samurai X Cave. As they entered, Nya could not help but feel a sense of wistfulness, recalling her past as Samurai X. Nevertheless, she had to put such emotions aside, for she was now the Ninja of Water and was no longer a samurai. As she turned towards Jay, Nya realized too late that he was about to lean against a particular button. Although she tried to rush over in time, it was too little, too late, and the cave's alarms immediately began to blare as Nya bemoaned the fact she should have warned Jay not to touch anything. Although Nya was soon able to shut down the alarm, high above in the skies of Ninjago, Flintlocke and Doubloon had already intercepted the alarm signal and were preparing to follow it.

Sometime later, the Samurai X Cave's scanners picked up the arrival of the Sky Pirates. Although Jay suggested for Nya to suit up once more as Samurai X to fight them, Nya was hesitant at first, reminding Jay and by extension, herself, that she had to leave that life and identity behind now. With Jay's urging however, Nya agreed to make this Samurai X's final battle - a true farewell to Samurai X!

As the pirates stormed in the cave, Nya greeted them inside one of her battle suits, effortlessly dispatching the pirates and Dogshank while Jay attempted to use a machine gun, only to discover that its controls were coded to recognize Nya's fingerprints, resulting in the weapon firing uncontrollably and indiscriminately. Terrified by the combined might of Nya and Jay, the Sky Pirates were forced to retreat. As they fled, Nya took back the machine gun from Jay and deactivated it. She then expressed to him that they had to once again find a new place to hide, for the Sky Pirates would surely return to the cave if they stayed, and in greater numbers than before. Agreeing with her, Jay remarked that he had some ideas for a place to hide next, but he would like for Nya to offer her suggestion this time. Nya however, declined, tearfully admitting that she would now truly have to abandon her former identity as Samurai X to focus on being the Ninja of Water. After some comforting words by Jay, the pair began to depart the cave. At that moment, Jay's cellphone began to ring. As he answered, Jay's eyes widened in horror as he realized who was calling: the Manager of Super Tasty Chicken, and he was inquiring about Jay and Nya's failure to return the mascot costumes they had been loaned!
