Ninja Explosion! is the 14th issue of of the Ninjago Magazine. It includes 891614 Cyren and Destiny Lloyd appears on the cover. It was released on June 29, 2016.

Shipwrecked[]

During a storm, the heroes' boat washes up on the beach of an unknown island. After inspecting the boat, it turns out that although there are no holes in the hull, the sail is torn and all the food supplies have been lost in the ocean. The heroes split up and search the island. Cole gathers a supply of coconuts, Lloyd brings an old fishing net, and Nya finds a couple of palm fronds. While Lloyd, Nya, and Jay try to repair the sail with their finds, Cole unsuccessfully cracks the nuts and one of them flies right into the stretched net, tearing it apart.

Lloyd and Jay set off to search the island again, leaving the other heroes to guard the boat. Making their way through the jungle, they discover the pirates' Airship Attack Airship on a mountaintop. The Blue Ninja suggests climbing up to try and retrieve the sail for the boat from the pirates. Once at the top, the heroes realize it's not actually a mountain, but an active volcano. As they discuss their next course of action, Dogshank, Kieren, and Doubloon find them, leading to a fight

Although the ninja fend off their attacks, the Sky Pirates eventually push them toward the volcano's crater and push them down. The heroes manage to use their elemental powers in time to activate the lava and Airjitzu to fly back. Along the way, Jay grabs some cloth from the pirate airship, triggering an eruption. The heroes reach the boat and repair the sail, but the pirates are forced to fly away, still without enough warm air for their flying vessels.
