Aboard the Black Bounty, Garmadon and the Serpentine are still attempting to learn the secrets of the Mega Weapon. In need of new ideas to stop Lloyd's training and to prevent him from unlocking his true potential, Garmadon acknowledges to his minions that throwing them overboard for poor ideas only serves to hamper their morale. As such, he has now decided to allow the snakes to write down their suggestions and submit them anonymously. After allowing the snakes to submit suggestions, Garmadon began rummaging through the bowl to read their ideas, reacting with disgust as to how terrible they were. Finally, Garmadon discovered an idea he liked and ordered his forces to set sail for Ninjago City.
Meanwhile at Grand Sensei Dareth's Mojo Dojo, the ninja are undergoing a training session set up by Wu. While Zane attempts, and fails, to hit a single target with his Ice blasts, the other ninja question the feasibility of Wu's challenge. At that moment, the entire ground suddenly began to shake, prompting the ninja to take a look outside. Heading outside, the ninja look on to their shock as nearly every single metal item is rising high up into the sky; cars, golf clubs, trashcans, and more! Acting quickly, Zane creates an ice slide to rescue a family trapped in their rising car while Kai points towards the sky where the Black Bounty is flying overhead with a giant magnet strapped to its underside!
After quickly routing Serpentine forces on the ground, the ninja wonder to themselves if they had won already. Unfortunately, things were only just getting started as the giant magnet ripped apart multiple plumbing pipes from rooftops across the city, unleashing massive floodwaters down onto the streets below. As the ninja stare at the oncoming wave, Zane ordered the others to retrieve their mech suits while he dealt with the incoming water alone, using his powers to freeze the entire torrent. As for the other four ninja, they suited up in their mechs and took the fight directly to Garmadon and the Black Bounty.
In spite of the Serpentine's best efforts, they were unable to stop the ninja from disabling the giant magnet, much to Garmadon's dismay. The Serpentine then fired netting the Bounty's cannons, entrapping the ninja and their mechs long enough for Garmadon and his forces to escape. Returning to the ground below, Lloyd urged for Zane to get some rest while he and the other ninja would deal with cleaning up the wall of ice. High-fiving each other, the ninja reaffirmed that they were the best team before getting to work.

- Barring errors regarding their appearances, the ninja are shown to be wielding their Elemental Powers in this comic despite not being able to do so until Season 3: Rebooted. As such, this comic is non-canon.
