Dragonhead

Overview

“My master keeps mech heads as trophies inside his lair, he can't eat us so he rips us apart for fun. In my case, he tore out my eyes but kept the rest of my head.”
— Dragonhead to Kai, The Land of Monsters

The Dragonhead Mech is a Battle Mech living in the Land of Monsters. It was reactivated by Kai and given a dragon skull as head, thus its name.

The Land of Monsters[]

The mech that would later be known as "Dragonhead" was constructed by Kai using various parts scavenged out of the Mech Catacombs Cemetery. As he was unable to locate a mech head, Kai substituted a nearby dragon skull to serve that purpose before activating the mech with his Fire. Upon activation, the mech thanked Kai for its activation and noted its master did not give it a name.

When The Beast revealed itself, Kai commanded the mech to fight to help him escape from the catacombs, but the mech refused, citing the Beast as its master. Following the Beast's defeat, the mech thanked Kai and deemed him to be its new master. He would soon dub the mech "Dragonhead," which was previously used by the Horned Cat Tribe to refer to the mech.

Eventually, Dragonhead and the rest of Kai's allies arrived at the Great Watering Hole, where they discovered an underground tribe of Monster insects who had been responsible for kidnapping other Monsters across the Land of Monsters. Searching its databanks, Dragonhead explained the history of the Great Volcano and how another eruption would blot out the sun across all the Merged Lands, bringing extinction to all life except for insects.

Dragonhead then participated in battle against the Monster insects, using its communication device to summon backup from the horned cats when it became clear that Kai and the others were being overwhelmed. Following the defeat of the Monster insects, Dragonhead stayed behind with the released monsters and bid farewell to Kai as the latter continued his journey through the Land of Monsters.

Notes[]

  1. Dragonhead shares many similarities with Rusty: both are from the same mech series, both share almost the same beliefs about finding and worshipping their masters, and both are activated by Kai's Fire. These similarities imply that Dragonhead is also from Ninjago.
