The Battle Mechs were a series of sentient robots that were sent to the Land of Monsters to help people living there.
History

Background[]
At some point, the mechs were sent to the Land of Monsters to help the humans that lived there.[1] Most of the mechs were eventually left in the Mech Catacombs Cemetery, where the Beast started ripping them apart for fun, and in their eyes, became their new master.[2] A mech named Rusty, created by the Elemental Master of Fire, lost his purpose and was turned off after his creator was turned into a monster by the creature living in the Cave of Change.[3]
The Land of Monsters[]
In search of allies, Kai was led to the Mech Catacombs Cemetery where he scavenged assorted parts and a dragon skull to create a battle mech he would dub "Dragonhead." The merch would pledge its loyalty to Kai as its new master following the Beast's defeat and accompanied him to the Great Watering Hole in search of the missing parts of Rexa and Trexx. Dragonhead would assist in defeating the Monster insects and ending their plans of conquering the Merged Lands before parting ways with Kai.
Monstrosity[]
Rusty was discovered and accidentally reactivated by Kai when the latter was trapped within the Cave of Change. Although initially reluctant to help due to his past failure in protecting his master, Rusty was convinced by the latest Master of Fire to rise up once more and assisted Kai in escaping from the Cave of Change.
Rusty would continue to wander the Land of Monsters alongside Kai, noting he was still in need of a purpose - something that constantly frustrated the Red Ninja. Upon arriving at the shores of a lake, Rusty cautioned Kai about the Gimon-Ogu that dwelled within its waters, only for his words to fall upon deaf ears. Rediscovering his purpose, Rusty ultimately sacrificed himself to critically wound the monster, allowing for Kai and Daidan to slay the beast and survive another day.

- The existence of a mech series was first implied by the Fire Master in "The Mission", as he suggested that he can call Rusty by his serial number, and it was later confirmed in The Land of Monsters comic.
- It is unknown if the other mechs besides Rusty also belonged to Elemental Masters, but they all seem to be powered by Elemental Energy, as both known mechs were activated by Kai's Fire and Rusty was also able to power up by Daidan's Life.
