Overview
Garmadon Rulez! (alternate title: Secrets of the Sons of Garmadon) is a canon[1] Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu book about the Sons of Garmadon that was released on September 10, 2018 in Germany. The book is written in the form of young Harumi's journal, from soon after her adoption by the Royal Family to shortly before Garmadon's resurrection.

Continuity[]
- Harumi mentioned feeding the poor was just a ruse to get Lloyd to like her.
- It is confirmed that Harumi turning evil is the result of both the loss of her birth parents and the poor treatment and very strict education she received from the Emperor and Empress.
- She never saw the Emperor and Empress as her parents and did not think they actually cared for her.
- This was previously revealed in the show, in "Game of Masks."
- Hutchins appeared to be more aware of Harumi's problems than the Emperor and Empress and attempted to help Harumi by telling her to write about her feelings.
- Hutchins sang "Spider's in the House" to her when she couldn't sleep. She thought that the song was creepy, but later used it as inspiration to fulfill her goals.
- Harumi idolized Garmadon and despised the ninja immediately after the events of her flashback to the death of her parents.
- Harumi wished that Garmadon adopted her instead.
- After Garmadon was purged of his evil, she lost respect for him after watching as he bowed before the Emperor and was pardoned in a public ceremony. She abandoned her fanaticism toward him for the years between Legacy of the Green Ninja and the end of Possession, and considered him weak, stating that it would have been better if he had died instead.
- At some point, she found a way to sneak out of the palace through the garden, and gained her casual disguise.
- Her obsession with Garmadon was reignited when she was attracted to the Oni Mask of Deception, and heard Garmadon's voice calling her in a similar way as he would be heard from the Departed Realm later in "Dread on Arrival."
- Mystake showed Harumi the tale of the Oni and Dragon with the same tea used to show Jay and Lloyd later.
- She got Hutchins to take her to the Library of Domu under the guise that she simply wanted to study Ninjago history, where she read about the Oni Masks and the resurrection ritual that could summon Oni from the Departed Realm. From there, she got the idea to form the Sons of Garmadon, and bring the Garmadon she idolized back.
- The hair of an Oni's son, brother, and wife is required for the resurrection ritual.
- Killow was the first member Harumi recruited.
- Harumi is not aware of Mr. E's origins, or what "E" stands for. He was recruited by Killow.
- Killow is afraid of rabbits, and suggested they be used as the Sons of Garmadon's symbol before the current one was chosen.
- Harumi's planning began after Garmadon's death in Possession, and the other members of the gang were recruited between The Hands of Time and Sons of Garmadon.
- At some point, Nails briefly got the Book of Spinjitzu and redrew a page with Lloyd's family tree. As noted by Harumi, it's unknown why didn't he just steal the whole book in the first place.
- A card used in the book is the same art work of the card Card 99 - Spirit Guard from the Ninjago Spinners game.
Errors[]
- Garmadon is draw in his resurrected from through the whole book, despite the book being written before he was revived.
- On page 6, the Great Devourer is referred to as male.
- On pages 18 to 19, Harumi found a scroll in the Library of Domu pertaining to Wu's love letter to Misako that Garmadon would take credit for. It is unclear how this information would be in the Library as the only people who knew about Garmadon signing the letter were Master Chen and Clouse, who were both trapped on Chen's Island.
- Harumi also found a picture of Master Chen in his appearance from Season 4. It is unclear how she obtained this either.
- On page 23, Harumi somehow obtained a secret document pertaining to Garmadon's activities on the Dark Island during Season 2. It is implied that this is information from the Ninja, however the Ninja would’ve had no way of relaying information to the Ninjago island while on the Dark Island.
- Page 24 features an image of General Cryptor and the Nindroids, however the page chronology takes place long before their creation in "The Surge."
- On pages 26 and 28, images of Garmadon in his Jungle/Tournament robe are featured. However, these pages take place between Season 2 and 3, meaning he should be either in his black robe from Season 2 or his Rebooted outfit.
- On page 33, Lloyd is wearing his Techno robes in a page that is set directly after Season 4, meaning he should be in his Jungle robes.
- On page 42, Jay, Zane and Kai are in their Trainee gi, despite the page being set briefly before Season 6, meaning they should be in their Deepstone or Destiny robes.
- On page 44, Lloyd is pictured in his ZX suit, despite this image being labeled as the newest image of Lloyd in a page taking place around Season 6.
- On pages 67, 68, 103 to 106, 110, and 111, Killow, Mr. E, Ultra Violet, and other gang members are all seen with their Sons of Garmadon outfits and/or tattoos before joining the gang.
- In the Ninja's profiles from page 78 to 89, all the Ninja and Samurai X use their Season 8 designs despite the pages being written shortly after Season 7.
- Oddly, on Samurai X's description, Pixal's face is poorly edited onto the image despite her identity not being known at the time.
- On pages 92, Lloyd is shown in his Season 8 design despite taking place shortly after Season 7.
- On page 123, An illustration depicting Mr. E fighting Samurai X is seen. However, this must be an illustration in-universe also, as Mr. E was not in Pixal's criminal database by "The Mask of Deception."
