Overview
The Age of Becoming is a traditional ritual performed in Chima, when one reaches the age at which they are able to plug in Chi. In this ritual, they are handed an orb of Chi and are required to comply with the responsibilities of a warrior. Then, the Lion places this Chi inside their harness, to experience the power of nature.

Laval reached his mature age, thus, the Lion Tribe assembles at the Sacred Pool of Chi for Laval's ceremony. Lagravis explains to Laval the responsibilities he should now take on, which Laval agrees to as he takes the CHI to plug in. However, this ceremony is disrupted by ambush from the Crocodile, Wolf and Raven Tribes.

The strict rules of only plugging CHI at the required age and not using it prior to it is crucial in Chima. This was demonstrated when Cragger plugs CHI prematurely, causing him to undergo an uncontrolled rampage. The Lion Tribe is left to pulse and chain Cragger, causing some tension between the Crocodile and Lion Royal Families. This ultimately becomes the catalyst to the wars within Chima.
