Attack on the Lion Temple

Background[]

After Cragger became King of the Crocodile Tribe, his sister Crooler controled his mind and made him wish for revenge on the Lion Tribe for the accidental loss of his parents. Cragger began building up an army of his own troops. He then contacted Razar of the Raven Tribe and made an alliance with him with the promise of many "trinkets and treasures" if his tribe helped fight the Lions. The Wolf Tribe, whose leader Worriz wished to get back at Laval for humiliating him, soon joined the alliance as well.

Summary[]

The battle began while Laval was having his Age of Becoming Ceremony. The three evil tribes swiftly attacked and ran into the temple. The guards were taken completely by surprise and were no match for the triple alliance of tribes. Many warriors stormed into the throne room and raided the Sacred Pool of Chi, with weak resistance from the Lions.

Laval, the Prince, chased after King Cragger of the Crocs, and they left the fight and went far into the woods. The Lions were able to drive the invaders out of the temple, but not stop the seige. Lagravis called the Eagles and Gorillas with a loud roar and the two tribes came to their aid. The invaders were now evenly matched for the most part and a long battle ensued on the field outside the temple.

At sunset, Cragger returned and watched as the Lions slowly began losing, even with reinforcements. Luckily, Laval arrived on the Lion Legend Beast, making many enemies stop fighting and look on in awe. Cragger attempted to kill the beast but was swatted away by it. Laval, by using the Chi of Cragger, defeated him and said to the attackers that they had only a few seconds to leave. Cragger's army retreated due to their fear of the Legend Beast, but Cragger made clear that the war "is not over".

Aftermath[]

The Lions, along with their allies, won the battle. Technically though, they didn't win by themselves, especially if we take into account Longtooth's words "even with eagles and gorillas I don't know if we can hold much longer". The Legend Beast, which wanted to bring peace and balance to Chima, played a major role in the outcome of the battle, and if it hadn't shown up, things would have been different in Chima. The Lions' victory was important for the future of Chima.
