A Day in the Life of a Golden Ninja

Synopsis[]

This short film is all about the Golden Ninja and his pet dragon! Excited for a day of rousing action, they must first do a series of chores around the monastery. Only then can they go out and begin their day of awesome adventures.... Join our ninja-dragon duo for a day of fun, and perhaps even some action! Only in this NINJAGO LEGACY short.^[1]

Plot[]

In the Monastery of Spinjitzu, the Golden Ninja and his pet dragon are sleeping. An alarm goes off but the Ninja throws a star at it and is then woken by narrator. The Ninja jumps out if bed only wearing underwear but the narrator fixes that for him. The narrator points out stuff about the Ninja, then the duo run off but the narrator calls them back, confused the Ninja grabs armor thinking it’s what he is missing but he is wrong he then sharpens his sword and takes a bath but is still wrong and is told they must do chores, to the duo’s annoyance.

The Ninja and dragon do all sorts of chores from feeding fish, cutting vines, washing dishes, ironing gis, cleaning the bathroom, emptying the fridge, they take a untold break but are soon put back to work. They start scrubbing floors, polishing gongs, cleaning the living room, changing the lightbulb, chopping the firewood, doing laundry, painting the bedroom, wax the floor, cleaning the ceiling, polish the banisters and cleaning the sun room. They work too hard and eventually fall asleep from all cleaning.

Trivia[]

• The day before this short's release, Tommy Andreasen tweeted the title card and the phrase, "... tomorrow ... something a little different."^[2]
• The Wilhelm scream is used in the scene when the ninja cleans the toilet.
• Although the only known Golden Ninja is Lloyd, in this case he is an independent character.^{[citation needed]}
• The narrator refers to the monastery's courtyard as a garden.

Continuity[]

• This is the only short and episode in general where the narrator is part of the story and interacts with the characters.
• The Golden Ninja in a samurai suit could reference Nya as Samurai X.
• The dragon is similar to the Fire Dragons because it is almost red in color and spews fire.
