Breakout!
Breakout![]
Following the Liberation of Ninjago, Lloyd and Wu returned to the Realm of Oni and the Dragon while the rest of the Ninja remained at the Monastery of Spinjitzu to oversee the rebuilding of Ninjago City. On this day, Nya found Jay and her brother, Kai, lounging lazily in the monastery with nothing to do. When she inquired about this, Jay informed her of Lloyd and Wu's return to the First Land, adding that he wondered if they would be bringing back Faith with them. When Nya teased him, asking if there was more to his interest, Jay quickly dismissed any notions, stating that his interest in Faith was purely a professional one; after all, she was quite the warrior back when she used her codename of "Heavy Metal."
When Nya pressed Jay about his interests, he denied once more, stating that Faith wasn't the right yin for his yang. At this moment, Cole and Zane burst into the room, the former asking why the three were lounging about, as they had work to do today! Zane affirmed this, clarifying that they had several ribbon cutting ceremonies to attend as the city's saviors. As the three shuffled out the door alongside their friends, Jay remarked sarcastically that he found ribbon cutting to be exciting.
As the day began, Cole cut the ribbon for Ninjago City's new fire department; Zane opened the new school; Kai opened the new public swimming pool; and Jay opened the Museum of Ribbon Cutting while wondering to himself why he was wasting his time here. When the museum curator thanked Jay for his attendance, Jay excused himself, stating he had to hurry off to a new opening ceremony at Kryptarium Prison. At the prison, Warden Noble informed Jay that they were still constructing the cell that would hold Garmadon, but for now, the deposed warlord was held within the same prison van he had been taken in, which itself was held within a larger, sealed cage. As the two walked through the rows of inmates, Noble revealed that the cell for Garmadon was nearly complete and they would like for Jay to judge its security.
Having overheard Noble and Jay's conversation as they walked past their cell, Killow turned towards Ultra Violet and proposed that they could escape and break out Garmadon in the process, as all of the prison's officers would be watching Jay's demonstration. Ultra Violet seemed unimpressed with her colleague's proposal however, cynically noting that even if he broke free, he didn't know his way around the prison. Fortunately, their conversation was heard by the cells across from theirs', where Eyezor and Kruncha addressed the newcomers and offered to show them the way around the prison if Killow freed them as well. Unsure of whether to trust them, Killow asked Ultra Violet for her thoughts, though she quickly dismissed his concerns by saying she trusted anyone the Ninja had sent to Kryptarium.
Meanwhile, Jay had finished his demonstration and inspection of the cell and deemed it worthy of holding Garmadon. As he parted ways for Noble and once again passed by Killow's cell, the big man took this opportunity to smash through his cell door, shocking the Lightning Ninja who was only a few feet away from the flying door. While Killow freed the other inmates as promised, Jay watched on in horror before radioing the other ninja to request reinforcements. The inmates then pursued Jay to Krptarium's courtyard where he leapt and used a flagpole to hoist himself up onto the prison's walls. Unable to reach him, even with Killow's height, the big man grabbed Frakjaw and hurled him at Jay as a projectile but missed. Turning next to Eyezor in spite of the transformed cultist's protests, Killow twisted the snake's tail and fired him at Jay like a rocket but missed once more.
At this moment, the rest of the Ninja had arrived at Kryptarium to backup their friend, leading to a massive, all-out brawl in the courtyard that ended with all of the villains, except for a very confused and surprised Killow and Ultra Violet, lying on the ground beaten and defeated. While the two bikers stood in confusion, Jay flipped a switch and lowered the cage that had formerly held Garmadon's police van over the two, entrapping them. Recognizing the cage but not seeing Garmadon anywhere, the bikers demanded to know the location of their boss, to which Jay revealed he had already been moved into his new, secure cell. As the bikers were returned to their cells, Jay mockingly cut open a ceremonial ribbon, christening the opening of Kryptarium's new Biker Gang Cell.
