Separate Ways

Separate Ways[]

In the forest of Ninjago many citizens are illegally creating treehouses in the City's Nature Reserve. They wish to live there so that they would be safe from another flooding. The Commissioner calls the ninja, who are able to convince the people there to travel to a different forest on the Destiny's Bounty after a small debate. Cole did most of the work which causes Lloyd to sit the next mission out in order to think about his declining skills to be a good leader.

Earlier that morning, Captain Soto, who escaped from Kryptarium Prison the previous month was able to find a ship inhabitated by people who refused to return to land after the Great Flood. Soto was able to convince the sailors to hijack a cargo ship with some word plays.

Unfortunately, Soto's malicious sceme did not as planned as he is being interrupted by Jay and Cole who are able to defeat him and his new crew. Jay later realises that the ship must have drifted near the Lighthouse Island so he decides to take a quick visit. Shortly before entering the lighthouse, Jay recalled some old events and realises that he feels the closest to Nya there, so he decides to stay there for a while, Cole bids him farewell and takes Soto back to the city. Inside the lighthouse, Jay sees Echo Zane, who does not remember him. Jay tells him about the time that they will spend together.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • "Seperate Ways" is set between Seabound and Crystalized.
  • Tommy Andreasen's original pitch for the comic featured Echo Zane leaving the lighthouse with Tai-D, later joined by the Falcon as well, after being inspired by Jay to become the hero he no longer was.[1] It was not included in the comic possibly because it would be too long.
    • This story was also mentioned by Tommy as an idea that didn't make it to the screen during an interview with the TTV Podcast and possibly could have led to a spin off series featuring Echo Zane learning the ways of the Ninja. [2]
Continuity

Continuity[]

Errors

Errors[]

  • The bottom comic panel on page 25 has a speech bubble coming from Cole that should be coming from Jay.
  • When the events of "The Last Resort" are shown, Jay has dark blue pants.
    • Ironically, a similar animation error happened in "Wishmasters," the episode prior, in which Jay had blue pants for a few seconds.
