Rocky Test Run!

Rocky Test Run![]

One day, as Lloyd oversaw Arin's daily ninja training, Sora walked by carrying the disk form of her newly created Elemental Tech Mech. After showing off the mech's ability to transform back and forth between a mech and a lightweight disk for easier travel, Sora expressed her desire to perform a test run with the mech. Specifically, she suggested heading off to the Land of the Three Mountains as a testing ground due to its varying terrain, making it the ideal place to see how well the mech held up in different environments. With Arin and Riyu all too eager to tag along, Lloyd let out a sigh and muttered that he would come along too as their master.

After arriving in the Land of the Three Mountains, Sora immediately got busy testing out her mech's ability to channel her power of Technology, reconfiguring one of the arms into a grappling cannon. As Lloyd watched, Arin and Riyu ventured off to find a place for the latter to practice flying. Although Lloyd watched for a bit, he was still tired from their flight to the Land of the Three Mountains and decided to take a brief nap, believing that his students were able to manage on their own because he had trained dragons and tested mechs a million times when he was their age. As Lloyd slept, he saw a strange red moon in his dreams. But before anything else could happen, Arin woke him up and snapped him back to reality; Riyu had fallen into a deep crevice during his last flight attempt, and Sora too was now trapped in the crevice with her mech when she tried to get him! Having been unsure of what else to do, Arin had run off to get Lloyd for his help.

Meanwhile, Sora wondered to herself if she could do anything to change her and Riyu's current predicament while they waited for Arin to bring Lloyd over. After an attempt to reach Riyu by extending one of the mech's arms failed to work, Sora decided she would have to rebuild the entire mech into something new. Unfortunately, tearing apart the mech while trapped in a ravine does have unforeseen consequences, as Sora soon found out when the canyon above, disturbed by the sudden movements of her mech, gave way and began collapsing atop her and Riyu. When the dust settled, Sora was relieved to find that she and Riyu had been spared from being crushed to death by the falling rocks, but were now buried up their necks in stones. At this point, Arin and Lloyd arrived at the edge of the ravine, having heard the collapse and since deciding that a new plan would be needed to save their friends.

After learning from Sora that she could use her powers to reassemble her mech in "two seconds" if she could see where their scattered parts were, Lloyd used his Spinjitzu to tunnel downwards and loosen up the debris that Sora and Riyu were buried under. In exactly two seconds, Sora reconstituted her mech, giving it a jetpack to escape with, while Arin swung in with his grappling gun and scooped up Riyu to safety. As the four returned to Destiny's Bounty, Lloyd declared that going forward, his students would only be allowed to run test trials in safe environments, like the Monastery of Spinjitzu. His students however protested the decision, with Sora remarking that this run had shown her exactly what she needed to do to improve her mech, while Arin joking suggested that Lloyd might just want to be closer to his bed!

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • The title of the magazine was previously misspelled as "Llyod's Epic Mission!".
  • The name of Zanth is misspelled as "Zenth" on the first page.

Errors[]

  • Sora explains to Arin how her Elemental Tech Mech works, although he witnessed her creating it "What the Mech?"
  • The Elemental Mech breaks into multiple parts in the comic, while in "Rising Ninja," damage to any one of the mech's components would cause it to transform back in its disc form.
  • Kai and Cole are strangely absent in the comic, even if they both recently got their own mechs.
    • It is possible that the comic is set after "A Pain in the Mech!" and that Cole left to finish his quest, but Kai was still in the monastery as seen in "The Blood Moon."
