Unlikely Team-Up!
Unlikely Team-Up![]
One day, Arin wandered into Sora's workshop to see what his old friend was up to. There, he discovered that she was experimenting with Zane's Spinjitzu Race Car by installing it with all different manners of grappling hooks. Following Arin's suggestion, she removed the larger hooks she had just installed in the front and replaced it with a simpler Dragon Hook at the car's rear. Once this installation was finished, Arin declared that he and Riyu were going to take the vehicle out for a spin.
While the two drove around the Crossroads, with Riyu hanging onto the rear mounted Dragon Hook as an impromptu 'flying lesson,' Rapton leaned against the wall of a nearby building a few blocks away. The former leader of the Claws of Imperium had since returned to his old profession of dragon hunting, albeit now as a mercenary rather than for Imperium. Watching as Arin and Riyu drove past him, Rapton realized he had an opportunity to capture Riyu once more for both revenge and profit! Double win! As the hunter approached in his Hover chariot, he watched as Arin was approached by both Kreel and Lobbo, with the two challenging the teenager to a race. Rapton could not believe his luck; now Arin would be too distracted with winning the race to pay attention to Riyu's safety! As the racers sped off, leaving clouds of dust, Rapton swooped in and fired his sword's lasso function at Riyu, capturing the baby dragon. Arin however immediately spotted this and fired the dragon hook at Rapton's hover chariot, hooking onto the vehicle as the Spinjitzu Race Car was lifted off the ground and into the air!
As Arin reeled in the shock from being lifted into the air by Rapton's much smaller vehicle, Kreel and Lobo immediately came to his rescue. Kreel explained that Rapton had rammed the side of her car when he swooped in to capture Riyu and scratched her new paint job; for that, she would help anyone wanting to take the dragon hunter down. Grateful for her help, Arin fired another hook at Kreel's car, towing her alongside him as Rapton continued to lift both effortlessly into the air. When Arin questioned how this was even possible, Rapton nonchalantly explained that hover chariots were designed to tow even the biggest of dragons, so the two cars, being significantly smaller and lighter, were almost like feathers for the chariot!
Thinking about their situation, Kreel realized that the Spinjitzu Race Car had a spinning function, which she instructed Arin to activate, walking him through the process to do so. As it spun, Rapton's hover chariot was suddenly jerked to the side as Arin realized the race car possessed greater pulling strength than the hover chariot. With Rapton's advance momentarily slowed, Lobbo flew up and attacked the dragon hunter, at one point succeeding in shattering the chariot's controls and causing it to plummet to the ground.
After landing on the ground, Arin tossed Lobbo his grappling gun as the droid returned to Kreel who had thought up of a new plan. On her command, Arin spun around the race car, spinning Rapton towards the harbor. Once the chariot faced the direction Arin desired, he uncoupled the dragon hook, sending the chariot flying towards the water as Rapton screamed. Kreel and Lobbo then stretched out the cord of Arin's grapple gun, all the way in front of the runaway chariot. As the vehicle rushed towards the cord, Lobbo lifted it higher, catching Rapton and knocking him out from his seat and into the harbor with a loud splash! While he skulked in the water over these turn of events, Arin apologized to Kreel for the damages the hunter had inflicted upon her car. In response, Kreel remarked that the parts she could obtain from disassembling Rapton's chariot would more than make up for her damages. As she and Lobbo prepared to haul away Rapton's vacant hovercraft, Arin apologized again to Riyu, promising to make sure that he would take better care of the baby dragon in the future.

Trivia[]
- This comic is set after Season 1, but it has some inconsistencies with the show.
- The Mech Pilot Nya figure on the cover of the magazine has a different colored mask.
Errors[]
- Sora did not invent the Dragon Hooks until "Beyond the Phantasm Cave," and she was only motivated to create them after Lloyd talked about having one.
- The ninja were unaware that Rapton had returned to being a dragon hunter by taking on mercenary work until "The Shape of Motion." At that point in the show, they believed Rapton had changed for the better.
