Trivia

Trivia[]

  • Although the Blood Moon and the Hundred Year Moon from Legends of Chima are distinct events, they both shed light on the lunar cycles in the Wyldness and their influence on the inhabitants' lives.[3]
  • The Blood Moon that occurs in Dragons Rising is different to total lunar eclipses in real life.
    • While the Blood Moon happens once in a few millennia, real life eclipses occur once— on average— every 2 and a half years.
    • The Blood Moon in Dragons Rising seems to last an entire night, while those in real life last from 30 minutes to an hour.
    • The Blood Moon doesn't seem to be caused by another heavenly body casting a shadow in it, much like the Yin-Yang Eclipse from "Day of the Departed."
  • In an interview[4] and Mysteries of the Merged World, it was said that the Wolf Clan draws its strength from the Blood Moon. However, the Blood Moon is said to occur only once every few thousand years and is not a source of power.[5] Furthermore, Season 3 later revealed that the Forbidden Five's powers actually come from Thunderfang's Chaos Energy. This was hinted at by Chris "Doc" Wyatt, who noted that the source of the Wolf Masks' energy, which is essential to the Wolf Clan's powers, would be uncovered in the aforementioned season.[6]
