Storm belt

The storm belt is an area off the Southern Coast of the Endless Sea with a series of never-ending thunderstorms and a region near the Island of the Keepers. According to P.I.X.A.L., several ships and airplanes have gone missing in this region.

History

History[]

Prior to The Island[]

At some point in time, the storm belt came into existence becoming a region plagued by never-ending thunderstorms and surrounded the Island of the Keepers. After the Keepers and the Stone Guardians were tasked with protecting the Storm Amulet, they used storm belt as an advantage to help them prevent anyone from going to the Island of the Keepers.^[1]

Several years later, Twitchy Tim went on a hot air balloon tour until his balloon was blown off-course to the island. During his time there, he was struck by the lightning from the storm belt twelve times while he was trying to escape.^[2]

Uncharted[]

The storm belt was first mentioned by P.I.X.A.L., who stated that it was very dangerous due to ships and airplanes disappearing when they were in the storm belt. However, the ninja as well as Twitchy Tim went in and were able to survive.

The Keepers of the Amulet[]

While explaining the Keepers' oath to the ninja, Mammatus mentions that the Keepers harnessed the power of lightning to have the same powers of the storm belt.

The Gift of Jay[]

In an effort to placate "Wojira," the Keepers placed Jay atop a raft and cast him out to sea as a sacrifice.

The Tooth of Wojira[]

After failing to save Jay from being taken by the monster, the ninja learned from Mammatus about the history of the Keepers with Wojira and how they were charged by the First Spinjitzu Master to protect the Storm Amulet at all costs. Mammatus then provided the ninja with a map of the Storm Belt, allowing them to discover a nearby cove large enough to hide a giant mechanical monster.

After journeying to this cove, the ninja defeated Ronin, his henchmen, and several Kryptarium inmates, bringing them all to justice. Once they were detained within the Island of the Keepers, Mammatus apologized for his people's actions against the ninja and the latter group departed the next morning.

The Wrath of Kalmaar[]

After hearing that the Storm Amulet was located in the Island of the Keepers from Nya, Kalmaar demanded her to tell him where the island is located at and that he will spare her and Maya's lifes in return. Although Nya knew that the storm belt was location of the Island of the Keepers, she pretended that she didn't knew so that Kalmaar wouldn't get the Storm Amulet.

The Storm Amulet[]

While looking for the Island of the Keepers' location, Glutinous came in and revealed the storm belt to Kalmaar. Although Kalmaar was confused at first, Glutinous explained the storm belt to him and said that it's the location of the island. After hearing this, Kalmaar ordered Gripe to ready the Maaray Guards so they could go there.

Meanwhile, the ninja used the Hydro Bounty to go under the storm belt so they wouldn't get hit by the lightning and travel to the Island of the Keepers safely.
