Harumi and the Overlord, "A Sinister Shadow"

The Overlord's void is a place beyond the Ethereal Divide occupied by the Overlord's ethereal being. Harumi was brought here upon her death, where she first encountered the Overlord's ethereal being.

History

History[]

During a wrestle for control over the Colossus during Lord Garmadon's takeover, the Colossus stumbled into the apartment complex Harumi was standing on. Resigning herself to her fate, Harumi locked eyes with Lloyd as the building collapsed and crushed her, killing her.[1]

A Sinister Shadow (flashback)[]

Before Harumi's soul could pass onto the Departed Realm, the Overlord intercepted, and brought her to his domain. Intending to convince her to serve him, the Overlord introduced himself as the Crystal King. He offered Harumi a deal: Serve him, and be revived.

She initially refused, questioning the Overlord's identity. The Overlord expressed disappointment in Harumi's resolve, and threatened to let her spend eternity in the Departed Realm.

Upon hearing this, Harumi relented, agreeing to work with him. Pleased, the Overlord returns her spirit to her body, reviving her.

Trivia

Trivia[]

  • The void seems to act as the dark counterpart to the Grasslands, both are mysterious places occupied by their respective owners who are beings that transcend death.
    • According to Tommy Andreasen, the void was originally intended to have a similar design to the Grasslands, with floating rocks, but in a different color scheme. In the end, however, they abandoned it, as it would have been too expensive to design and animate an entirely new location for such a short scene.[2]
